Beltre signed on July 28th for a N/A signing bonus but didn't get assigned to a team until now. He turns 18 in October.

Beltre is listed at 6'2 240.

Good luck to all who choose to fight the good fight in the main forum. I am going to sit out all such conversations & feel happier in my heart for having done so.

People will express shock at the $268m payroll in '24 (keeping a buffer under the $277m line for bonuses & acquisitions), but still deride every single move, talk constantly about last place finishes & other bad talking points.

& I'm going to hang out in here enjoying life & not letting sports make me miserable when they have given me so much <3

Fangraphs was down yesterday for a bit. I got into the office & was closing out tabs from yesterday, & one of them was the Fangraphs tab. The message when it goes down is:

I guess it wouldn't be surprising if Coffey jumped Bastardo since Bastardo pitched 90 innings on Wednesday & Coffey pitched 36 on Thursday before the rains last week.

It's weird because I never know whether their stuff is based on knowledge or wild guesses. It says on there it would be in italics if it was just a guess, though. MiLB page still says TBD for both teams in Portland's game, but Ian Cundall is there & I assume they know.

Hmm...it looks like SoxProspects first "Gameday Thread" was yesterday. Some interesting links in the OP, but only 14 replies.

Which I guess is more posts than are made in these threads by people who aren't me on any given day lol

Binghamton beat Reading 8-1, so they clinched the 2nd half title & eliminated whatever remained of Portland's playoff chances.

& more exciting...YORDANNY is scheduled to start for Greenville tomorrow.

Random take on the main board: sort by ERA become baseball expert on what will happen in '24 - ignoring the fact that the Red Sox have the worst defense in baseball, play in a hitter's park & ERA isn't predictive anyway.

Through 3 innings, 8 Sea Dogs have come up to bat twice & all 8 have reached base exactly once.

Tyler McDonough will have to get on leading off the 4th to keep the streak going.
