I’m struggling to understand why any pitcher would throw anything in the zone to Rafaela. That alone makes me wonder if it’s better to sell high on him.
I mean, it's not like AAA pitchers aren't trying to get him out.

Plus, it's not like other teams don't have access to all the same information we do. So who knows what his value is? We'll have the rest of the year to see how it goes, though.

Bastardo done after 2 innings & 47 pitches.

Dan Altavilla in & has allowed a homer already.
Altavilla & Casey Cobb each pitched 2 innings, allowing run 1 on a solo homer with 0 walks & 2 strikeouts. Only difference is Cobb allowed another single.

Nate Tellier is in now.

6 innings in, every starter on Greenville has at least 1 hit except Bonaci (10 total), & they all have at least one strikeout except Castro (9 total).

Tellier walked 2 in the 7th, but no runs. Reidis Sena allowed a run in the 8th.

8-7 Greenville, bottom 8.

This about to be the hottest forum on the site aside from whoever wants to argue about Cora.

First step in the healing process is promote Teel aggressively.
I would be so happy if someone ran a gamethread for Red Sox games the way @JM3 does these daily threads. I truly know more about most Greenville games than I do games for the big club. Thank you!

Lol no problem & thx for the kind words. I could add the Sox games to the daily mix if people wanted, but it would probably be a bit out of place in this forum.

Man, it's just tough not to believe that Dalbec has a place in the bigs, if he can find the right situation. His power is so damn legit
33.5% strikeout rate in AAA is going to make it hard to ever trust him as a day-to-day player in MLB & he's already 28.

I think there has to be a spot for him somewhere on a small market team, but not really sure what of value they'd want to give up for him?

Likely not too much. But honestly, he's always seemed like a great guy, and he has no foreseeable future with the Sox, so I'd like to see him find a home.

Really surprised they didn't move him at the deadline
If Turner is out for an extended period of time, he's got a role on the Sox & they don't really have depth beyond him at that spot, so not much point in trading him at the deadline if there wasn't a significant market.

If Turner is out, they can move Masa or Duvall to DH, but I agree that they have no depth beyond him. Again, I believe it's an off-season move.

Yeah, I was talking about a right handed back up corner infielder. It wouldn't be an every day role like it is for Turner, but pretty sure he gets called up.

A Dalbec trade would most likely be a change of scenery type deal for a similar fringe player on another team, maybe some pitcher they think they can fix.
