Shane Drohan had a 1.32 ERA in 6 starts, 34 innings for Portland with a 0.82 WHIP.

However, since being called up to Worcester he has a 5.80 ERA in 13 starts, 59 innings & a 1.73 WHIP.

After 5 straight starts where he pitched 4 innings or less, Drohan finally got a quality start last time out - 3 runs in 6 innings, & hopefully he can build on that, get back to the quality stuff he was throwing to start the season, & start limiting base runners & runs.

Their 1st at bats were uneventful. Nazzan flew out to center & Teel grounded out to 2nd.

Nicolas De La Cruz pitched 5 1-run innings today for DSL Blue, allowing 3 hits & 0 walks (but 2 wild pitches) & 4 strikeouts. ERA down to 3.38.

Wandy Abreu has been struggling for a while now. Today for the FCL Sox he pitched 2.2 innings & allowed 4 runs on 3 hits, 5 walks & a balk. He struck out 3 & was relieved by Yonfi Rodriguez.

Ovis Portes opened for DSL Red today in his 2nd game of the season.

This outting went less well than the first one & he allowed 2 runs in 1.1 innings on 1 hit & 3 walks, striking out 2.

He was relieved by Denison Sanchez who is 17. Sanchez had a similarly scary WHIP, allowing 3 hits & 2 walks in 1.2 innings with a run & 2 strikeouts.

He was relieved by Gilberto Batista who should be in for some bulk work.

FCL Orioles have 4 SB on Teel in 4 innings, including a double steal of home. I’m sure a lot is on the pitchers but something to watch.

It's too bad one can't just casually grab video of it & more easily properly assign blame, but yeah, definitely not a great start.

& they pinch hit for Teel, too. 0-2 (groundout to 2nd, groundout to 1st), 4 steals allowed in 5 innings.

DSL Blue lost 2-0.

Yoeilin Cespedes was 3-3 with a double & a walk.

The rest of the team was 3-26 with 5 walks.

After NDLC, Jose Martinez pitched the last 3 innings, allowing 1 run on 4 hits, 0 walks & 4 strikeouts.

DSL Red won 9-4.

Batista pitched 4 scoreless innings for the win, 2 hits, 5 strikeouts.

Brahian Rijo (who turns 17 later this month) pitched the last 2 innings & allowed 1 run on 3 hits with a strikeout.

Franklin Arias was 3-4 with a double.

Andruw Musett was 2-4 with a double.

Franyer Noria was 2-4 with a steal.

Nathanael German was 1-3 with a triple & a walk.

They managed 3 singles & 5 walks.

Nathanael Yuten was 2-4.

Armando Sierra was 1-2.

JOHANFRAN & FRAYMI were 0-2 with a walk.

How much longer is the FCL season? Is it worth trying to get Yoeilin stateside for a taste before next season? He appears pretty unchallenged so far.

Looks like FCL ends 8/22. I remember reading that it was unlikely he would come over this season, but that was a few weeks ago.

DSL also looks like it ends 8/22.

Bradley Zimmer hit a 2-run homer in the 4th to put Worcester up 9-4. Not a great outing from Drohan.
