Of course, based on the pictures, the only pitch of the 8 they've thrown to him that was remotely close was the 3-0 pitch his 1st time up.

Sharp with 5 scoreless innings so far for Portland. But not particularly sharp - 5 hits, 3 BBs, 2 Ks.
Sea Dogs up 1-0. Hickey single, Blaze walk, Dearden fc groundball thrown away allows Hickey to score.

He did get both of those strikeouts to end the 4th & the other to end the 5th, though. So he's... getting Sharp-er?

Dinelson Lamet pitched 5 innings for Worcester, allowing 2 earned runs on 5 hits, 3 walks & 4 strikeouts. 3.72 ERA.

He hasn't been great... but he's been a perfectly serviceable AAA pitcher.

Unlike Chase Shugart who allowed 4 runs in 1/3 of an inning & now they're losing 6-5.

Scott and Rafaela are absolutely lighting the world on fire in their first 100 AAA plate appearances. Scott with six home runs and more walks than strikeouts, Rafaela with seven homeruns and six walks (LOL)... too bad there's no room for either of these guys in the bigs right now.

Worcester won 7-6

Mosqueda pitched 1.2 scoreless with a hit & a walk & got the win. Garza managed to allow 3 hits in 1 inning, but 0 runs, & Justin Hagenman pitched the 9th for the save, allowing 1 hit & 1 walk & striking out 1.

C Note was 1-1 with a homer, four (4) walks, & a steal.

Story was 1-5 with a double & 3 strikeouts.

Stephen Scott was 2-5 with a homer & a double.

Wilyer Abreu was 3-5 with a steal.

Bradley Zimmer is back from his rehab stint & was 0-2 with 3 walks & a steal.

Portland won 3-0

Sharp pitched 5 scoreless with 5 hits, 3 walks, 1 WP & 2 strikeouts (ERA down to 5.75).

Ryan Miller pitched 2 scoreless with 1 hit, 1 walk & 2 strikeouts (ERA down to 4.15).

Alex Hoppe made his AA debut & pitched a 1-2-3 inning with a strikeout (ERA at 0.00).

& Luis Guerrero pitched a scoreless 9th with 1 walk for his 15 save (ERA down to 1.91).

Elih Marrero was 3-4 with a double.

Tyler Dearden was 2-4 with a double.

Blaze, Hickey & Meidroth had a hit & a run each, & Blaze added a walk.

I'm loath to talk about this...but Marcelo Mayer has been awful lately. He was 0-5 with a strikeout today & his average in AA is down to .189 & OPS down to .609.

The 4 walks today more than doubled Rafaela’s walk rate in AAA to 5.8%. Love to see it.

Continue to love JM3 bringing the heat on this forum.

Two of my problematic favorites on display with the AAA club.

Can Scott catch enough to ever be a backup, while maybe also playing some 1B and LF. Is the catching that bad or the bat good enough?
Is it just too bad that he isn’t right handed?

Similar handed-ness issues for Wilyer. If he was a righty, with some pop and decent corner defense, he’d have a spot on the roster. I still wonder if he’s a regular for a lot of teams and would have value.

I doubt Scott would add much value as a LF (although SoxProspects is more optimistic on this than I am). If he can keep improving his catching & hit enough, he might have a role. He is already 26, though, so his ceiling is somewhat capped.

Abreu may be an option if they move on from Verdugo this off season. Otherwise, yeah, not a lot of room for him with the Sox.

He struck out the side in the 1st, but allowed a hit & a walk & threw 28 pitches.

Bolden got the final out, so Ramirez's final line is...0.2 innings, 4 runs, 1 earned run, 4 hits & 1 walk. 31 pitches, 14 strikes.

Ronald Rosario caught the runner stealing to end the top of the 4th, & led off the bottom of the 4th with a single.

Paulino got a 1 out single for his 2nd hit of the game. Rosario got to 3rd.

Paulino stole 2nd, then Max Ferguson got an RBI single scoring Rosario, but Paulino was thrown out at the plate.

Alex Erro got an RBI double scoring Ferguson.

2-1 Greenville.
