Just want to try this out now that I technically should have everyone ranked...

DSL Blue Lineup Today
CF Raimundo De Los Santos #174 (he got a bump from #196 & is 2-2 with a walk so far today - looks like I should have bumped him further...they've been hitting him lead off for a while now with terrible results, but even when he was hitting .150 they stuck with him. Now he's up over .220)
SS Yoeilin Cespedes #7
DH Starlyn Nunez #37
C Kleyver Salazar #101
LF Cristofher Paniagua #160
1B Frederik Jimenez #170
3B Yoiber Ruiz #81
RF Jesus Prado #200
2B Gabriel Mavarez #190

SP Obed Balderas #75

They're currently winning 6-0 in the 5th.

Had I done this blind I would have Binelas and Matthew Lugo higher.
Yeah, Lugo has kind of struggled this year, but he's back from injury & played ok the last few games. The .683 OPS & 15/61 bb/k are troubling, though.

& Binelas the 36.7% k-rate is just a killer, especially with non-elite defense.

DSL Blue Lineup Today

SP Obed Balderas #75
OBED pitched 4 scoreless innings, 4 hits, 0 walks, 2 strikeouts. ERA down to 1.86.

Daury Pena (#179), who I probably overrated due to the 1 run he had allowed in 7.1 innings, previously, allowed 3 runs in the 5th (& 0 in the 6th), raising his ERA to 3.86.

Emmanuel Carta (#231) is in for the 7th.

D Sanchez was done after the 1 inning, wherein he allowed a run on 1 hit & 3 walks, & struck out 2, maintaining his 9.00 ERA.

They decided to stick with the theme & throw Oscar Sanchez (#237) out there for the 6th, which was a scoreless inning.

They scored 5 in the 5th to take a 7-3 lead.

SP Willian Colmenares (#167)
Colmenares has been injured all season until recently, & got off to a slow start, but I expect that he might continue to move up the rankings (he was #181 last time).

Today he pitched 3 scoreless innings, with 1 hit, 1 walk, 1 HBP & 1 strikeout.

They brought in Stijn Van Der Schaaf (#141), who has also been pitching better lately.

In his first 3 outings, he allowed 7 runs in 3.1 innings with 10 walks.

In his last 4 appearances prior today, he pitched 10 innings, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits & 4 walks with 8 strikeouts.

He pitched a scoreless 4th so far today.

Unfortunately, the offense is struggling. I was about to say they were 0-14 with 3 walks, but NAZZAN just doubled for their 1st hit of the game.

Tucker had walked. NAZZAN's double scored him, & then Antonio Anderson got his 1st professional hit to score NAZZAN. 2-0 FCL Sox.

Today's Projected Starters:

AAA - Drohan (#16)
AA - Sharp (#202)
A+ - Perales (#5)
A - Jackson (#113)
FCL - Polanco (#159) - didn't happen
DSL Blue - Portes (#233) - didn't happen
DSL Red - Carta (#231) - didn't happen, but he has pitched a couple innings

For some reason it irks me when they post projected starters that are wrong after the games are already well underway.

Speaking of things that are wrong, it's Enrique Carta. I get him confused with Emmanuel Polo (#250) sometimes.

Oscar Sanchez is rated that low more because he's already 20 than because he's a terrible pitcher. He pitched 2 scoreless innings today with 1 walk, 1 hit & 3 strikeouts to lower his ERA to 5.71.

Marcos Almanzar (#226) pitched a 1-2-3 8th.

DSL Blue wins 10-4.

Yoely was only 1-5 with a double.

Yoiber Ruiz was 3-5 with a double, a triple & 4 RBI.

Raimundo De Los Santos was 2-4 with 2 walks & a steal (10).

Simon Pacheco (#203) came in for the 8th & allowed a hit, a walk & hit 2 guys to allow a run.

2-1 in the top of the 9th.

Here's the whole inning from Pacheco for fun...

Franklin Arias was 1-3 with 2 walks.

Frayner Noria was 2-4 with a double & a steal (6), & he threw a guy out at the plate.

Gerardo Rodriguez was 2-4 with a double & 3 RBI.

Yosander Asencio was 2-5 with a double.

Here's the whole inning from Pacheco for fun...

Single
Walk
Groundout (2nd & 3rd)
HBP
Groundout (2nd & 3rd, 1 run in)
HBP
Flyout
Despite that, they decided to bring Pacheco back out for the 9th. Anyway, this was the 9th...

Strikeout
Walk
Missed catch error by Nazzan (1st & 2nd)
Fielding error on Martinez (2nd & 3rd, 1 run in)
Lineout double play, Nazzan to 3B to end the game

FCL Sox win 3-2.

NAZZAN was 1-3 with a double & 2 walks.

Antonio Anderson got his 1st hit in his 2nd game & was 1-3 with a steal.

Stanley Tucker was 1-4 with a walk.

Kristian Campbell was 0-3 with 2 HBPs. Campbell came out after the 1st out of the 9th inning (a strikeout), not sure what that was about. He's been hit 3 times in 2 days, though. Maybe time to get him to a higher level where he will be safer.

Pacheco's final line:

2 innings
2 runs
1 earned run
1 hit
2 walks
2 HBPs
1 strikeout

& he recorded his 6th save

To reconstruct the rotation...

Tuesday 8/8 Perales
Wednesday 8/9 DiValerio/Song
Thursday 8/10 Encarnacion
Friday 8/11 Rogers
Saturday 8/12 Bastardo
Sunday 8/13 Song/DiValerio

So yeah, would definitely expect it to be Perales's turn. Hopefully he's ok. Wasn't great his last time out (6 runs, 5 earned in 5 innings...although idk why they sent him back out for the 5th to allow 3 of those).

Drohan struck out the side in the 1st.

Listening to the SoxProspects pod today, they were talking a lot about Drohan. They were saying he's been much better in the 1st 2 innings then falling off, & he seems to be falling into similar issues as Chris Murphy & might be best used in MLB in a similar role.

Ian was also talking about his pitch mix & how he's trying to throw 5 pitches including a cutter & a slider that are too similar & that he probably just needs to pick one.
