4:05 p.m. AAA - Rochester (Banda 7.88 ERA) @ Worcester (Brandon Walter 6.08 ERA)

6:05 p.m. A - Lynchburg (TBD) @ Salem (Jedixson Paez 4.13 ERA)

6:05 p.m. AA - Portland (TBD) @ Richmond (TBD)

7:35 p.m. A+ - Greenville (Rogers 5.36 ERA) @ Bowling Green (TBD)

FCL Sox won the 1st half of the game 4-1, & they won the 2nd half 4-1, for a final score of 8-2.

JOHANFRAN went 3-5 with a homer (which he hit yesterday).

Bradley Zimmer was 3-5 with 2 doubles.

Diego Viloria was 3-4 with a double. Diego 3-for-4-ia?

Marvin Alcantara was 2-5 with 2 doubles & a steal.

Christian Koss was 2-5 with a double.

Bryant Zayas was 2-4 with a steal.

Today's 1st 2 pitchers were Denis Reguillo (2/3 of a scoreless inning, 1 strikeout) & Connor Butler (1.1 scoreless innings, 2 walks, 1 strikeout).

Luis Cohen pitched the last 3 innings for the save. He allowed 1 unearned run on 2 hits & 1 walk with 2 strikeouts, lowering his ERA to 3.60.

Worcester is losing 1-0 in the bottom of the 2nd. Rain delay.

They will have runners on 1st & 2nd with 0 outs when play resumes after b2b Dalbec/C Note singles.

Haven't really sorted the Portland thing, yet. Their pitcher for today is still listed as TBD. But their pitcher tomorrow is listed as CJ Liu, who last pitched on the 25th. So normally I would expect Wikelman Sunday & Liu Tuesday.

Not sure what the disruption is. Maybe because Isaac Coffey hasn't pitched since the 19th (when he pitched 5 shutout innings with 10 strikeouts)?

Wikelman struck out 2 in a 1-2-3 1st (of course so did the other pitcher, but whatever).

Wikelman had gotten the 1st 10 hitters out, but then walked the 11th & allowed a 2-out RBI double. So perfect game, no hitter, & shutout all gone.

There are few things better than when a prospect is promoted and proceeds to DOMINATE at the new level. The fact that we have multiple guys this year who have done just that is truly invigorating. If we’re seeing a new normal for Wikelman it puts him on a much more exciting trajectory than it seemed early this year.

Edit: Looks like the Sea Dogs just hit a little league 3 run homer.

Richmond's no hitter & shutout are gone, too.

Not exactly sure yet how Portland has 3 singles & 3 runs this inning, but I'll figure it out.

Yeah, it's been really exciting with him & guys like Dobbins, Monegro, Perales, Blalock, Coffey, etc. It feels like a lot of them have hit speed bumps recently, but how they adjust will be super important.

Gambrell is another one.

It's too bad Drohan, Van Belle & Rogers have struggled since their promotions.

I guess that means Walter's whole start will be 2 innings, 1 run on 3 hits & 2 walks with 3 strikeouts.

We should probably trade him while teams can still look at his Major League results as he is a crappy AAA pitcher (6.03 ERA).

I'm guessing he'll be done after 86 pitches & 5 innings. 2 runs, 2 hits, 4 walks, 4 strikeouts, ERA up to a still very respectable 1.59.

Paez on the other hand is through 6 innings in only 67 pitches with no walks.

Salem is up 6-0 on an Albert Feliz home run.

Paez has been good in his last 4 starts. 19 innings, 2 runs, 13 hits, 1 walk & 17 strikeouts. 0.95 ERA, 0.737 WHIP. Not bad for a 19 y/o.

So now in Paez's last 5 starts...

25 innings, 2 runs, 14 hits, 1 walk, 1 HBP & 22 strikeouts. 0.72 ERA, 0.640 WHIP. & he's still 19 (I missed the HBP from the WHIP last time).

Btw, Elih Marrero got caught stealing after those 4 singles in a row for Portland (& before a Rosier walk).

He has been caught stealing 7 times & has 8 steals. He may need to stop trying to make being a base stealer happen.

This was the final score. Scroggins pitched a total of 2.1 innings allowing those 2 runs.

Royman Blanco came in for his 1st A-ball action since promotion & allowed a single but got the next 2 hitters out to finish the game.
