Interesting that they promoted Johnathan Roof. This is a guy they originally drafted out of HS but lost him to college and then this past year they took in the minor league rule 5 draft. That's usually a wasteland of stalled prospects going nowhere but to fi out an organizational roster in need of a specific position. Yet, he just had easily the best 2 month stretch of his pro career, and they pushed him up to AA. I wonder if this is someone they actually thought they could "fix"?

Looks like Mike Miller going to Salem is the second half of Jonathan Roof's promotion to Portland.  Miller was off to a great start at Greenville last season before disappearing, presumably due to injury.  Will be at least another interesting name to follow at Salem, amid that prospect wasteland.

Christian Vazquez 11/31 in an 8 game hitting streak.

Over the last 4 games, 7/17 with 2 doubles.

Regarding Roof, he had a significant jump in power in 2013. Maybe they saw a player who already fixed himself?

Devers also picked up two BBs, so he got on base in three of his five ABs.  Impressive lines for his first two games.
