It only took a hit, an error, a walk, a bunt, and a ground ball to score a run. Making progress.
Peralta's .029 LHB avg against this year makes me feel not too terrible about it.
The case for Pivetta in the pen isn't the velocity; he had good velo in the rotation, too. The case is that he has a pretty good four seamer and a great curveball, and then some very whatever other pitches. He can be a two-pitch pitcher in the pen.
Ravech: “Devers has hit 21 home runs against the Yankees, 7 more than Ted Williams.”
Maybe he meant at Devers’ age.
Now for the gut punch. What from will it take? A bunch of walks? An error or two? A bloop and a blast? Combo of BABIP luck? Place your bets.
Why not Duvall there? Turner against a guy like Holmes is not a good matchup.
