Righthander Anderson Espinoza offered a glimpse of the dazzling potential that led the Sox to sign him to a $1.8 million bonus last summer. Espinoza, who was throwing in the low 90s when the Sox signed him, sat at 95 m.p.h. and topped out at 97 while giving up just one baserunner (a single) against the 10 batters he faced in three innings. He struck out three, walked none, and elicited four ground balls while throwing consistent strikes.

With that homerun, JBJ is now OPSing over .900. He's cut his K% all the way down to 15.2, and looking at video, his swing appears to be a lot less busy.

Admittedly, he's batting a Williamsian .402 on BIP. But I'm most encouraged by the increased contact rate and the obvious return of power.

.402 is not sustainable, but guys in the minors can show sustained very high BABIPs when they are clearly outperforming in a level.  Not sure what more JBJ needs to show to get another extended look in the majors at some point soon.
