This is one of the more shocking games I've seen.

It's not that they are getting blown out. It's that they were 14 point favorites, at home, with a line on the series of like -5000. In no world could they lose this game. It was impossible.

And they are annihilated. By Levert and Tristan Thompson.

Just an ugly, half hearted performance at home. This shit is embarrassing. They should still win the series, but this type of effort doesn't bode well for the future. Basically punting two playoff games for shits and giggles is wild.

How many dumb front rim threes can this team take? At some point these aren't good shots anymore.

Here
I think they are in real danger of losing this series if Porzingis doesn’t come back. Mitchell can go nuclear and take a game or two and now the variance margin for error is getting small.

We have had an extraordinary season, but as I watch the playoffs, so many teams seem ore athletic and faster than the Celtics. I know it is obvious, but playoff basketball is just different. I'm a little nervous about the rest of the run.

This will definitely stoke the narrative that they’re over-reliant on the 3. Just seemed lost once it was clear they weren’t falling.

Tatum has 25 on 17 shots. Anyone blaming him is really missing how this all works. He’s not perfect but he ain’t the problem here
It’s not his “fault” necessarily but I don’t think he has been very impactful tonight despite the box score. Kind of a theme of his playoffs so far.

That’s a ludicrous call. The Celtics have been awful tonight—-as usual officials at least as bad

If they lose this series then they weren’t beating the Knicks or whoever comes out of the West anyway. It’s just that many fewer Google Pixel ads to watch.

This is literally Heat game 2 lite. Cle is 55% from the floor, 52% from 3 and we can't hit anything, even open looks. Sky is definitely not falling, people need to chill

Agreed. This loss is on nearly everyone else playing terribly.
I dunno. He clearly got outplayed by the best player on the other team in a home game. I think criticism tonight for basically the roster is fair and warranted.

UGH. Why is Tatum smiling (even ruefully) on the sideline? Call me old fashioned, but I prefer an admixture of anger and shame during an ass-kicking.

Right.. if you ignore the stats and just run with your own narrative I guess nothing else matters.

Some low hanging fruit for Game 3:
-Play the starters more
-DO NOT PLAY TILLMAN AND HORFORD TOGETHER

Thing is, they weren’t hitting many threes until late in the 3rd. And they were already up a bunch when they heated up.

This loss isn’t just because CLE went off from 3. It’s because the Cs once again played like they downed NyQuill and listened to ASMR on a loop before the game.
