I think that the problem was the team didn't want to commit to multi year deals on these guys.I don’t think bringing back neither of Nate or Wacha was a bad idea- they both had serious red flags that suggested a big downward slide was likely. I don’t think the Kluber experiment was a good idea but I think they needed a vet to hold down a spot while the Houck/Whitlock/Crawford/Winchowski situations developed (and they needed more time to develop)
There really wasn't another guy out there who was going to sign a 1 year deal. I think it was as simple as that.I don’t think bringing back neither of Nate or Wacha was a bad idea- they both had serious red flags that suggested a big downward slide was likely. I don’t think the Kluber experiment was a good idea but I think they needed a vet to hold down a spot while the Houck/Whitlock/Crawford/Winchowski situations developed (and they needed more time to develop)
He also signed in February. So a lot of teams passed on him for various reasonsI don’t think bringing back neither of Nate or Wacha was a bad idea- they both had serious red flags that suggested a big downward slide was likely. Pitches so much better than Kluber. Though that might not be saying much.No way Garza is 29.
He looks 14.
Hey, at least they didn't waste a good start by Kluber. So many innings with two guys left in base.
Could’ve been a much different game.
Better than fully committing to him, I guess.Cora in the post game answers questions about Kluber and his spot in the rotation. He says that Kluber will start on Sunday in Arizona. Asked if this means that the Sox are going with a 6 man rotation for the foreseeable future and Cora said "for the foreseeable week".
Hard to waste what you never have.Hey, at least they didn't waste a good start by Kluber.
Padres pitcher did a good job, why can’t the Red Sox get good pitchers like that?
Seriously though, has Kluber beenDFA’ed yet?
