Yeah, fair. Wonder why I forgot him...Do you consider Barnes to have been the closer at any point in the last couple years? He got the full scoreboard show at Fenway, so I think he counts.
There were a lot of great plays. I'm glad I watched it.That was a really spectacular baseball game. I love this sport.
What is wrong with starting the weekend games at 1 pm Pacific time? Are you guys still asleep then?NFL is absolutely better on the West Coast. I just get tired of the whining about games starting on Pacific time by those living back East
Games are over mid afternoon and you can still play outside, Night games are over before midnight. What is wrong with starting the weekend games at 1 pm Pacific time? Are you guys still asleep then?
This. The perception is that start times are placated to those on the west coast (yes, I know they aren't and TV is involved) despite the east coast having a higher population and a 1 or 2 hour shift would make a big difference in the east. Who didn't love those afternoon playoff games from the old Garden back in the day. Like tonight's Celtics' game, two east coast teams on a Sunday on TNT, what's wrong with a 6:30 start?...sorry for the derail. Sale has been awesome lately and having a accountable top 3 on the mound changes this whole season. What is wrong with starting the weekend games at 1 pm Pacific time? Are you guys still asleep then?
He’s getting the 9th. It’s why he’s here and what they’re paying him to do. You can’t staple him to the bullpen bench because he blew two games a week ago.
UNLEASH THE KIMB…..woops, wrong closer
This is fun. Like, I actually hate it but this is the shit that makes the game exciting to watch.
We survived Alfredo Aceves closing. We can survive this.
My mother used to refer to people like you as "gluttons for punishment." Those of us who dislike unnecessary agita are tuning out when this guy comes in.Water.
See? Y’all need to relax. Now I’m gonna go play Xbox while cheap beer and the satisfaction of victory keeps me warm.
With baseball being a game of failure, are there any other players on the Sox you turn away from?My mother used to refer to people like you as "gluttons for punishment." Those of us who dislike unnecessary agita are tuning out when this guy comes in.
Hmmm interesting. I would have that that it would have been worse than 1.5%That's really bad. In real time it wasn't the amount of missed calls, but the egregiousness of them, and that backs up my thoughts. That's 6 pitches that were entirely inside the zone called balls, and 6 that were way outside the zone called strikes.
I tend to give ump the benefit of the doubt on borderline pitches, as long as they are consistent, but the strike zone last night was all over the place.
No. Closer seems like a special case, especially following a brilliant 6 or 7 innings from the starting pitcher. With baseball being a game of failure, are there any other players on the Sox you turn away from?
