I wrote a piece for the COM on Minor League Opening Day. Here is how I conclude:

From the Aces to the Zephyrs (New Orleans), from Arkansas to West Virginia, baseball begins today. Go out and support your local team. Just remember, the players you see in your journey to the local yard are also the players who may turn into the next major-league superstars, the next great players for your MLB team, or your next favorite one-year major league wonder. Even if none of that comes to pass, you get to watch a baseball game. And there is nothing better than that.

Please do so. You don't want to make Abs unhappy, do you?

Thanks Cuz! These are great.

Especially now that I'm out of the area and away from all the minor league teams. Much appreciated!

Aaron Wilkerson totally dealing tonight in shit weather. 11 Ks, 5.2 innings, 85 pitches. Great command. Best K performance since a 12-k game in 2014 by Brian Johnson.

Going to be hard to keep either Moncada or Ben-In-10D away from a fairly prospect-weak Portland lineup.

Let the usual disastrous spring weather up there pass by first, of course.

Moncada hit a blast to the wall into a 20 MPH wind tonight. Salem's field is nearly Fenwayesque in being death on lefty home runs, something to keep in mind.

Kind of sad that Chavis didn't get promoted. He finished fairly strong, and hope was that he'd solidify that in the fall instructional league. Guess not.

Wow, that Buffalo team is like a retirement home for once notable prospects. Owens K's Jesus Montero and Domonic Brown in the 1st.
