He had no chance on Hernandez's throw but he didn't move at all for Crawford's (bad) pick-off attempt and let that (even worse) throw on Ohtani's dribbler clank right out of the glove. He doesn't seem very mobile or reactive at the position.
If he got to the first one, the runner wouldn't have been out anyway.
I can't replay the second at the moment - thoughts?
For years I’ve struggled with the memories of two back to back bad throws (total worm killers 30 feet short of where they were intended) I made as a catcher in my beer league softball. Watching this error filled inning has given me a small amount of needed healing.
Hope he heats up along with the weather. He’s shown little pop or power or productivity from the clean up spot.
With Trout, Ohtani, Rendon, Renfro, you have to figure they'd be good. Go figure.

Tapia really fucked the potential of that inning. Any little grounder gets Duran to 3rd which likely at least gets the run home.
