Detroit has the leafs tomorrow then off until Wednesday with a back to back against Philly then at Boston. They finish at the Rangers who will have nothing to play for.

I actually think they're pretty easy to figure out. Their defensemen flat out suck. When they have a night like tonight when they're forwards are playing great or Rask has a great night they can win. If they have to actually lean on the guys on the back end they lose.
In spite of how badly the defense was (McQuaid in particular had a terrible night) the team as a whole played with a lot of desperation and really sacked up tonight against a top team on the road. The deserve a ton of credit for that.
Honestly, there's 4 fucking games left. One against a team that is below them and has a chance to take their playoff seed. All I want is the playoffs. Seriously. Especially in the Eastern Conference, because who the hell knows?
I don't like the last 10 regular season games feeling like the playoffs, but here we are. I'd rather be dying over overtime in a Game 2 than worrying so much about St Louis coming back from a 5-2 deficit in a regular season game, but here we are. There is too much talent in the important parts of this team to watch them miss the playoffs two years in a row, so here I am, yelling at the TV for games that really matter to nobody outside of us and the players on the ice.
It shouldn't matter that much, but it does. At least to me. And the next 8 days of hockey are pretty fucking important to me. I don't know whether that should make me be happy or sad.

I watched the final 5 in a bar in Michigan with my best friends. All except for one are Wings fans. The one was a Blues fan. Fun night to tell them all to fuck off.
You should have then roofied their drinks, stripped them all naked and put them all to bed together.
This is right on, they need 2 more top-4 caliber defensemen, it's not more complicated than that. In an ideal world they sign/trade for 1 this offseason and one of Morrow/C. Miller/Carlo/O'Gara/Arnesson make a leap by the second half.
