I exepct the Rags to win unfortuantely since the Flyers can't seem to ever win a big game at MSG. I also expect the Kings to win since well it's the Sharks.

No clue on Avalanche/Wild game - that's a real toss up.

They all seem like coin flips, but I went Rangers, Wild, Kings.

Rangers because of Lundqvist and the Flyers recent struggles at MSG. I'm probably rooting for the Flyers though, screw Alain Vigneault.

Wild because they're the more veteran team and have gone through this before. They've also been close in Colorado twice now, maybe one breaks their way. The big ? Is Darcy Kuemper. He's played well, but it is a game 7 on the road.

LA/San Jose- I have no idea. I went with LA. Potentially no Vlasic combined with some uncertainty in net. Tough spot for Todd McLellan.

I went Rangers (home ice), Avs (home ice) and Kings (momentum).

A good secondary poll question is "Of the six teams, which one do you feel is most likely to advance"?  I think I would answer Kings because that series has SJ choke written all over it.

I think we would like to see the Flyers face the Penguins in the next round and have a bloodbath.  So go Flyers.  Also I used to go to lots of Flyers games and fuck any team associated with Ulfie.

Yeah, we want the Flyers to win, even though the resident Flyers fan here picked Montreal to beat us (because he was scared of a potential ECF matchup).

This is right.  Also, even though he's seemingly "lost a step", you remove the possibility of Lunqvist stealing the ECF; something Mason's unlikely to do.

I actually like this Flyers team, I'm definitely rooting for them tonight. I would absolutely be rooting for them against Pittsburgh as well, I think it would be a really fun ECF to play against them.

I think Colorado wins as well, and so do the Kings. Would love to have a second team added to the 3-0 list of infamy.

It would be a 4th team, no?  The Wings and the Penguins did it before the Bruins did.

Once Philly lost Pronger, Richards, Briere, Carcillo et al they became imminently more like-able in my eyes. Giroux is an absolute stud, and Hartnell/Simmonds are two guys I would take on the Bruins no questions asked. Add the Steve Mason redemption story to the mix and I'm definitely rooting for them over either the Fighting Vigneaults or the Pens.

I'm sort of indifferent towards both the Rangers and the Flyers right now, but AV, Brian Boyle, Dan Carcillo, etc. tips the scales towards the Rangers for me.

Rangers, but I hold my breath because they haven't played well at MSG this year.  OTOH, this season nobody has won 2 games in a row against each other.

Avs---they are a better team and that crowd is great.

Kings--because Joe Thortnon is on the team and, well, they choke every time.

I will admit the NYR are infinitely more unlikable than the Flyers.

But saying you actually like the Flyers. I don't even know.

Pretty sure Trent Whitfield is in the lineup for SJ tonight, he has some experience in these situations.  So, SJ is fucked.

I picked Flyers in 7 in AMcGhie's spreadsheet, so I need to stick with that.  Home gives the Avs a different look, so go with them [/cafardo]

Flyers. Avs. Kings. First two are kind of tossups but I feel pretty strongly about the Kings.

I think Jake Voracek is going to come up big tonight.

Rooted for Flyers against Penguins few years ago. Easy to do against Pens, and in this situation Rangers. But they will never be likeable

The "San Jose and Joe Thornton are chokers" is largely a creation steming from Dupont's "Full Thornton" meme. It was amusing, but it is not really true. In the 8 years he's been in San Jose, they've made the playoffs all 8 times and he's led them in playoff scoring 5 of the 8 years. The exceptions are his first year when Marleau clipped him by a point, '09/'10 when Dan Boyle led the team in playoff scoring (The Heatley/Thornton/Marleau year) and last year when Pavelski led the team by 1 point over Thornton. His is having a poor series right now, though. Under Joe, San Jose has been out of the first round in 6 of his 8 years. Can't get over the hump? Absolutely. Chokers? I'm not sure that's accurate.

They've also done this before. Pissed away a 3-0 series lead before prevailing in Game 7 on home ice.

I went with the three home teams: Rangers, Avalanche, Sharks. I think the big time players step up at home in game 7. Lundqvist at MSG, Varly and the kids in Colorado, and Jumbo/Marleau in the Tank.

Pressure is on in NY, and I don't think Lundquivst will answer the bell, Flyers win. Wild win because they have a more veteran team, and I don't believe in Varlamov in big games. Then the Kings because the Sharks have been playing with both hands wrapped around their throats and it's tough to win that way.

The Flyers need to win, because if they don't I'll be sweating through draft day waiting to hear "The Flyers trade Claude Giroux, Sam Morin, and 3 1st round picks for both Sedins".

I hate the Flyers, so my vote for the Rangers might indeed be due to bias.  I used to work for Comcast-Spectacor and the thought of my former bosses watching their Flyers lose makes me happy.

No offense, Mo.

I have a friend who is a big Sharks fan and he is, yet again, preparing for the worst.  I think it was just last year that he finally believed me about "Joe Thornton Syndrome".

I'll take the Avs over the Wild because I think they are the (slightly) better team at home.

True enough. The draft's in Philly so if that does happen we'll at least be treated to a post-trade lynching.

I wasn't really going by his personal accomplishments.  His teams have gotten high seeds almost every season since his arrival in the middle of 2005, yet they've been to the WCF only twice and have a 1-8 record in those 2 appearances.

I do like to laugh at the Full Thornton references, though.

Rangers, Avs, Kings, but I'm hoping the other in all cases. The Flyers aren't going to get it done, which is too bad. The Rangers are a darn boring playoff team that refuses to engage in any of the ugly stuff that makes playoff hockey fun to watch. They will just bore the piss out of any non-Ranger fan with their solid defensive play and strong goaltending, like the old Devils. That's simultaneously a criticism and compliment. I hate them. I hate their kids. I wish a fault would open and engulf MSG, but alas, it's a passive margin. So I'll watch in pained desperation, channeling Greg and cursing them out for not solving teams that take away their space. Did I mention that I hate the Rangers? I'm glad I got that out.

The Flyers have become dominant on special teams, and Lundqvist has not been outplaying Mason. Simmonds will be unstoppable tonight, and rangers fans will disgrace themselves on twitter again.

The Wild look like a much better team to me, I expect them to pull it out, possibly in ot. The Sharks have a huge weight on their shoulders, and LA has championship experience. I'll be shocked if SJ doesn't complete their epic choke.
