Jrue looked bad there---neither got into the body nor up to contest. He was worried about Murray going by him (he turned back a bit towards hoop) when clock made that impossible.

very rare misplayfrom Jrue

Holliday got absolutely roasted twice.

Why the hell wasn't our best on ball defender on the guy that was obviously taking the shot?

murray is a huge dick by the way, Idk if any one saw the saga of him randomly deciding to bully Paolo banchero before he even go into thel eague
Or if anyon saw him bump a ref for no reason after the game. The guy is an absolute clown. He deserves to be in purgatory in Atlanta for the rest of his career

I honestly don’t know what to say here.

@benhogan @Deathofthebambino did either of you watch this game?

I look at the box score and no one played that bad? I will always rage against Tatum end of game ISOs but his stat line looks decent

Yeah, didn’t agree with the “you can’t play any better defense there” call. Just backed off and let him get to his spot.

Game doesn’t matter, healthy, etc etc.

Losing to that team twice in a week is fuckin trash man. Really did not play well all game which is pretty unusual this season.

Murray was 18-44; KP and Tatum together were 17-42.

Hawks having 10 extra shot attempts is basically the game, losing 17-9 in offensive rebounds. If Horford is in there, it's probably a different story on the glass, but Cs definitely are going to hear about this Atlanta trip.

Jrue is great and he just didn't look right there---his balance was off the whole time, and he got juked right before the shot, which given the clock he shouldn't have bought.

I don't have sound on---whoever said "you can't play any better defense" doesn't know a lot about defense.

They played crap defense most of the night and got killed on their defensive glass. Up to the viewer to decide if that means anything longer term

A great game/shot by Murray.

tip of the hat
He went 18 for 44? Maybe eye test he looked better.

If I am playing the Celtics in the playoffs, my strategy would be let KP beat me 100%. Especially from beyond the arc

Hope when playoffs come around they aren’t switching so easily without a fight. I doubt they will but…that exact thing has killed them in the past when they haven’t been at their best defensively.

I wonder what the Sons of Andre Miller thought when the Nuggets let go of the rope once they locked everything up last year. It doesn’t matter.

You could dice it up a million different ways. The Celtics have the ability and personnel to make the finals fairly easily

The game is ultimately meaningless but unfortunately it reveals that the Celtics for all their tremendous stats and accomplishments and whatever else this season still completely suck at close and late situations.

Play very physical too. That’s literally the only thing that concerns me in the playoffs. They need to figure out how to handle physical defense and the officials swallowing the whistle. They still seem to struggle with it.

This one is really just player performance, not so much scheme, etc. They missed too many shots in the paint - floaters, Tatum fadeways, KP kinda just throwing the ball at the rim and hoping for the foul, etc.

Murray was roasting KP in the lane and the Cs were way too slow to stop switching KP. Finally, Holliday started cutting across to help KP out, but in general they left KP on an island and he just kept getting beat by that fallaway jumper.

Great call. And after watching a few games recently KP is the guy that responds the worst to physicality.
The Atlanta game before this one he was falling over every time he tried to set a screen. He needs to buck up
