Interesting choice at right back. Welcome back Stefan?

Liverpool: Kelleher; Bajcetic, Konate, Van Dijk, Tsimikas; Endo, Elliott, Gravenberch; Doak, Diaz, Nunez

Luis Diaz playing like he's pissed off being assigned to the JV squad.

Yowsah, absolute missile from the edge of the box to put LASK up. Not sure how it got through all those bodies.

Defense leaves a guy unmarked on the edge of the box on a corner. Granted it was a screamer of a shot but he shouldn’t have been so open.

Hmmmmm....I need to see the reply. Looked like Diaz lunged in, not the defender.

Edit: Ah, Diaz hit the ball but then the defender caught him. It's a foul.

Here comes the cavalry.

Endo's passing was miserable today. Just getting someone efficient in there will help a lot.

And another clever free kick routine from LASK.

So LASK continues their attack but the ref stops the Liverpool counter. And the guy pops up to whine for a phantom call. When he instantly pops up, a card should be pulled or he should at least be sent to touch.

The tooth check was a nice touch.

Mo came on hot.

As usual, I look at Europa and say “there’s a lot of great clubs in there”

Ajax-Marseille is legit and Rangers-Betis (@rguilmar !) should be fun too.
It was a fun game to watch and Rangers got the deserved win at Ibrox. Betis had the better of the play in the first half but Rangers figured them out in the second. I imagine Betis will want to make a run at winning this just to get a little out of Sevilla’s shadow. They won’t go far if they can’t fix their defense though, or at least turn their chances into goals.

A Lost Time
Biggest upset in a while for us. Going in, most of us thought we would be in for a drubbing. Xgoal-wise a fairer outcome would have been a draw or maybe even a Brighton win, but regardless, AEK looked like it belonged out there.

The group is still tough however, so I am not sure we are even going to be able to get the third place ticket to conference league.

astride the divide
Brighton was without Lewis Dunk and it showed. Lots of possession but not as confident on the ball as usual. Evan Ferguson also a late omission with illness (speculated covid). De Zerbi played a lot of the new guys, and there were some flashes but a largely disjointed performance. Fortunate the other two in the group drew.

Trent is back for Liverpool! No battle of the Mac Allister’s yet as Alexis starts the game on the bench. Salah is starting this one and gets put through to goal on a tackle from midfield by Quansah but a save was made.

Gravenberch puts home a ball the other keeper spilled after a hard but straight on shot from Trent. 1-0 Liverpool almost at halftime

California. Duh.
A goal, an assist, and a shocking miss. Just another game for Darwin.

Gravenberch had a great game. If he can maintain his creativity and aggressiveness while figuring out his pressing and defensive responsibilities in Klopp's system, he's going to be a hell of a player.

Crazy atmosphere in Toulouse for the game against Liverpool. Nice to see them (barely) hold on after a very soft overturn of a goal in the first half.
