Eh, I mean not a lot. Throwing faster pitches with better shape is a good thing. But you need to layer in how deceptive the pitches are, how closely they mirror each other out of the pitcher's hand, & especially location.

The most interesting change in Pivetta since then is the sweeper.

Fitts threw 1 more changeup in the 2nd before throwing back-to-back changeups in the 3rd to Seager getting him to ground out, & back-to-back changeups to Evan Carter in an AB that ended in a strikeout.

He's also done things like throw 4 straight sliders to Marcus Semien, & 5 sliders in 6 pitches to strikeout Garcia in the 4th to end his outting.

Burned . . . Blacklisted

The SoxProspects episode has a lot of fun stuff of impressions from ST.

@JM3 Around 29 mins they get into Cespedes, and then Franklin Arias and then move to Bleis and Anthony.

If you are into prospects, you may need a break, a cigarette and a stiff drink after 10-15 mins of this.

They have Anthony as now 6’4 220, and looking improved from last year. That’s what you want to hear!

Yup, it's a good listen. Got into it a bit in the Podcast thread:

STARLYN

I'm excited that guys like Arias & Starlyn are finally getting the love I thought they already should have been getting. Now I just need someone to get excited about Andruw Musett.

In 49 games for DSL Red Sox Blue, the switch-hitter batted .325/.391/.479 with 12 doubles, three triples, four home runs, 34 RBIs, 32 runs scored, seven stolen bases, 17 walks, and 29 strikeouts over 215 plate appearances.
Among the 41 players in the DSL who made at least 210 trips to the plate in 2023, Nunez ranked 11th in strikeout rate (13.5 percent), seventh in batting average, 19th in on-base percentage, eighth in slugging percentage, ninth in OPS (.870), 14th in isolated power (.155), 13th in line-drive rate (21.4 percent), and 10th in wRC+ (129), per FanGraphs.
