This could have easily happened to me. I'm on West Coast time and I'm a single dad that needs to get up and get kids to school and have an hour commute. I don't check SoSH until at least 10a PST on work days.

It's bullshit and you're selfish dicks for doing that.

Sorry guys, thought we had consensus (and it wasn't my pick after my earlier post pointing out the time). I'm happy to wind back if possible or make other arrangements to make sure this works out fairly

My suggestion would be that we play the players through the last completed round. Hopefully we get through the 7th and can all have 7 man rosters for a week.
I 100% agree with this. We will get the 7th round done in time, don't force anything, don't cancel any weeks. Just make it a 7 man field for week 1 and we move on and complete the 8th round when we complete it.

I just went when I got the notification.

That said, the 24 hour rule, which is like the only rule of the draft, has been broken multiple times in this particularly draft for some reason, putting us in this predicament. Seems like that was totally avoidable.

Or we just drop this to 7 rounds?

There's a theoretical advantage if someone undrafted goes nuts after the tournament starts and before we finish the whole thing and then gets scooped up in round 8. Don't know how to solve for that, as remote a possibility it might be.

So, I see that BigMike went, which means I’m on the clock. But I’m hesitant to go because I’m not sure whether we’re unwinding any of the draft picks given the discussion over skipping someone.

I’ll await resolution before I do anything.

Same....picked because I was notified, without looking too much at the previous posts....good with whatever....redact the picks or limit the roster don't matter to me

I’m fine with that too.

We did need to have some kind of a sense of urgency here given that the first tournament tees off in less than 48 hours.

I guess my argument against this is that someone could get an advantage if an undrafted guy wins this week.

Edit: And yes, I'm biased because I will be the first one finished.

I still think we will finish on time. I don’t think there’s much advantage if you get one pick as the tourney started. It’s all scrubs left anyway.

It didn't affect me since I won't pick for awhile anyway, but changing the rules that quickly is definitely not cool. We should probably have a rule up front next year where the draft starts on X date, on Y the limit goes to 12 hours per pick on Z date it goes to 3 hours etc.

And I agree that if we don't finish the 8th round before tee off then we should drop that round from the first week, with those lotto picks if you can draft a guy in the 8th round who locked in a great first round or whatever that's a pretty big advantage since one big score could be more than most 8th round picks get all year combined.

We only have 18 picks left but the scenario I'm thinking about is it gets down to the last 4 or 5 picks on Thursday/Friday and some undrafted guy is way up the leaderboard and then gets picked. Even if we don't include him in the Sony payout there are downstream benefits like exemption into majors and points for the FedEx Cup.

The guys at the bottom of the draft need every chance they can get to squeak out wins and points from a diamond in the rough since the talent drop off from the top guys is so severe. The options (dropping a round, dropping a tourney, etc) are super sucky if we don't finish this thing on time.

It’s less than a 1 percent chance I bet that someone is up that high and then wins the tourney for all those benefits. The odds are so long for that to happen. More likely The guy you pick fades on the weekend and then sucks the rest of the season.

I'm not going to be online much tomorrow, so I'm going to send two guys names to @Zomp now, so he can grab one of them for me when @Dan1864 makes his pick. If someone knows they'll definitely be around, let me know and I'll PM you too if I get a chance, so if you or zomp are around, either of you can do it. Thanks all, good luck.

I should be around if you want to use me as a Zomp backup
