Lol Nate TIce is loving it.

We took his QB #1 in Maye, and he had Jalyn Polk as one of his top WRs (#34 overall player). He comps him to Robert Woods. Can play anywhere, good hands.

Edit- Brugler mentioning his strength and blocking.

A) ESPN was literally 5 minutes behind
B) Cards made a MUCH better trade
C) Couldn’t we have drafted him at 68?
Probably not. WRs were gonna move early tonight.

No let's see if they move up to get someone like Paul.

I don't think they play the same spot.

I think Ladd is seen as a slot only or slot predominantly guy, Polk is probably going to be a Z, he's a couple inches taller, 15 pounds or so heavier.
Ladd predominantly lined up out wide at GA, 118 snaps to 34 in the slot. He is a Z. His best route is the out.

I saw Polk a few times in person this last season. He's pretty twitchy and physical, great hands and sneaky fast. Didn't think they'd take an inside guy, but I like him a lot

I'm not saying he was a slot in college, I'm saying most draft people think he's a slot, probably partially because he's well under 6', and his vert is solid but not elite.

Overdraft big time.

There must be some bad intel on Adonai Mitchell. Why would teams pass on him for the Polks of the world?

I will say, if you liked Polk he probably wasn't going to be there in the 3rd. Most people have him in the top 50. Maybe could have traded back to 40+ but might not be worth it to risk it if you like him.

Well, T’Vondre Sweat is a much worse pick than Polk so that makes me feel somewhat better

God. There goes Belichick screwing up the draft again by trading down and then reaching even after the trade down. /s

Thought sweat was falling at least to the third round if not 4th especially after his DWI.

Tice on Polk:

Like his teammate Odunze, Polk checks a lot of boxes at wide receiver. Inside-outside versatility? Check. Good hands? Check. Smooth athleticism with some glimpses of a deeper bag of tricks as a route runner? Check. Willingness as a blocker? Check.

Polk has above-average-to-good size, speed, foot quickness and contact balance along with everything listed above. He might not have true No. 1 option upside, but he can carve out a role in a lot of different types of offenses as a No. 2 option and become a reliable target-eater no matter what’s asked of him. He’s the ultimate useful type of wide receiver.

I don’t know the players and don’t really care who they take I am just glad they are trying. You need to draft lots of receivers to hit on the position.

Maybe they had no intel ATL wanted to move up and ATL targeted the Cards pick.
We heard all day teams were talking to NE about moving up. Zero percent chance ATL would have called AZ and not NE.

I still would have much rather had McConkey (or taken the Atlanta trade) but Polk is a good player.

Like I said, I’ve seen him consistently comp’d to Chris Godwin and that’s a good prototype for rookie QB

We’ve got a run of DTs better than the guy the Falcons traded up to take.

Mitchell was like 9.88
That still doesn't make top 10% blah though. Mitchell has other issues, including motivation. Polk doesn't.

There's so many quality WRs out there that no one at the point is gonna be universally loved?

Field Yates had Polk as his #43 on his big board last night, right behind Pearsall and Coleman.

We're only drafting dudes with 4 letter last names. Saving money on jersey lettering.

Mitchell is falling because he’s got a rep for immaturity, not really a guy a rebuilding program is gonna dip into here
As the step father of a type 1 diabetic who competes athletically. It really screws with them. She shuts down at times and if she goes low or high during a game its a mess. She tried wearing a pump and it didnt work out well while playing. It also causes a lot of other shit that comes off similar to some of the issue for Mitchell.
