Of course Maye is a project in the way that literally every QB prospects not named Andrew Luck and Peyton Manning are. He's just worth missing on. He's not Mac Jones where he'll be Derek Carr if everything goes right. That's exactly what they needed to bet on. That simple.
Sounds like Kraft picked Mac and then prevented Bill on at least one occasion from trading him down the line.

Whatever people think of BB’s talent evaluation skills at this point, he is far from alone in considering Maye a talented, but raw, prospect/project. I think they had to take a shot with either him or Daniels, but having some reservations about him is not an outlier opinion.

There are a lot of sons in this draft, but on a pure “looks like his dad” metric, I think MHJ probably wins
