Honestly forgot Mata exists for a bit there, what's his deal these days?
Radio silence per @Chris "HEN-ri-KAY"

This was from April 2nd...

Bryan Mata is progressing with his hamstring injury. The hard-throwing right-hander is on the injured list and could return to the club in early May. Mata is out of options, meaning he will need to be placed on the Red Sox 26-man roster or he will need to be designated for assignment.

Chad Tracy is being very quiet about Brandon Walter and Bryan Mata injury updates. We keep trying to pry anything
Would that necessarily be something Tracy has information on? I assume if they're rehabbing it's probably in Ft. Myers & they may not tell him anything unless their return is imminent.

A couple Greenville pitchers added to the IL.

04/21/24 Greenville Drive placed RHP Reidis Sena on the 7-day injured list retroactive to April 19, 2024.
04/21/24 Greenville Drive placed RHP Conor Steinbaugh on the 7-day injured list retroactive to April 19, 2024.

More guys on the IL:

04/20/24 Salem Red Sox placed LF Jhostynxon Garcia on the 7-day injured list. Left hamstring strain.

04/20/24 Salem Red Sox placed OF Stanley Tucker on the 7-day injured list. Right hamstring strain.
& I'm told Austin Ehrlicher is, too. I don't see a transaction, but it's not surprising since he hasn't pitched since 4/14.

A few injury updates in the Glob from Speier.

Mata to throw live BP and if that goes well, a rehab start:
Righthander Bryan Mata, who suffered a hamstring injury in spring training that put him on the injured list for the first month of the season, is slated to throw his first live batting practice session at the end of this week. If all goes well, he could start a rehab assignment either next week or the following one. Because Mata is out of minor league options, he’ll either have to earn a roster spot by the end of a 30-day rehab assignment or be removed from the 40-man roster.
Walter hasn't thrown but they are hoping to avoid surgery:
Lefthander Brandon Walter, who suffered a rotator cuff strain in spring training, has yet to start throwing and is working on building strength in the muscles around his shoulder. For now, the team remains hopeful he’ll be able to pitch again without surgery.
Brannon and Jhosty:
Catcher Brooks Brannon (No. 29), who is on the 60-day injured list while recovering from arthroscopic surgery on his left knee, is adding work at first base in hopes that less time behind the plate will help him stay on the field after the 2022 draftee missed most of last year with back issues. Brannon has huge raw power — his exit velocities rival anyone’s in the system — but just 92 professional plate appearances. Thus, while the Sox expect that he’ll primarily catch, Brannon will see less time behind the plate than a player whose sole defensive responsibility is as a catcher.

Outfielder Jhostynxon Garcia — off to an excellent start (.325/.426/.575) — landed on the injured list with a hamstring injury.
