Yes Colgate isn't good. But historically Syracuse has never really been good at the "We've better than you and we are going to make sure you know it from minute 1 to minute 60".

Not today. 65-0. The 4th QB on the roster, a walk-on, got a series at the end.

My expectation is a 7-5 season, badly needed for a program that needs an unequivocal winning season badly.

Colgate - W
W. Michigan - W (though don't be shocked if they lose)
at Purdue - L
Army - W (though don't be shocked if they lose)
Clemson - L
at N. Carolina - L
at Florida State - L
at Virginia Tech - L (though they SHOULD win this one...but weird things happen there)
vs BC - W
vs Pitt (at Yankee Stadium) - W (maybe)
at Georgia Tech - L
vs Wake Forest - W (maybe)

I am....apparently not optimistic about this team. I've got them - at best - at 6 wins if things go right.

so were you the two guys at the game yesterday? not sure I've ever seen the Dome that empty

Shrader & the receiving group is legit. The new Def Coach is really experienced, like that move.

But don't trust Dino in a big spot. Over the years, he has been really terrible with TO/clock mgmt. This team had 5 penalties in the first 5 minutes of the game (against Colgate). That's not going to fly against real programs.

Sign me up for 7-5 since a healthy Shrader/Gadsen can carry this group there

The D is monstrous. That unit alone should get them to 6 wins. Western Michigan and Army aren’t scoring much on them. Purdue might not either.

If the O can do anything against their peer schools they could win 8. But, while I like Dino as a person and representative of the school, I don’t think he’s a particularly good coach. So it wouldn’t surprise me at all for them to underachieve and barely squeak into a bowl berth.

I'll be at this week's game, but alas not last week's.

We are beating Clemson. That team last night was not the Clemson team we know.

Colgate - W
W. Michigan - W
at Purdue - W
Army - W
Clemson - W
at N. Carolina - L
at Florida State - L
at Virginia Tech - W
vs BC - W
vs Pitt (at Yankee Stadium) - L
at Georgia Tech - L
vs Wake Forest - W

I'm swinging this to 8-4 now. And we SHOULD win the Pitt game but we tend to play poorly in YS and I hope they stop putting games there. Honestly, the only two games I can't, right now, see a pathway to victory is UNC and FSU. Not saying they will WIN the others, but they COULD

Well two not difficult games but man they’ve absolutely obliterated their first two opponents. Couldn’t ask for a better start to the season.

Syracuse is one of the first beneficiaries of the new ACC scheduling model. From the Atlantic, Syracuse no longer plays toss-up games against NC State and Louisville. They avoid Duke and Miami in the Coastal, but they play rebuilding Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech.

That’s a huge bummer but what a solid win for SU yesterday at Purdue. The boilermakers are a mid range big ten school and it’s not easy to win there. The Cuse played very very well. One question…

Late in the game Purdue fumbled and the replay showed (1) an SU player clearly making the initial recovery, (2) the ref giving the ball to SU before another official - who was not right there - came running in to give it to Purdue and they reversed it, and then (3) the guy who came out of the pile with the ball was an SU player.

It went to review and they gave it to Purdue but at no point did any replay even give any hint that any Purdue player got the ball. Why on earth did they give the ball to Purdue? It didn’t end up affecting the outcome of the game but it was completely flabbergasting.

Big game today against a tricky opponent in Army. They make life hard for you, but if SU can win, that takes them to 4-0 as they head to the meat of their schedule (next three are vs. Clemson, at UNC, and at FSU). Would be nice to come out of THAT stretch still above .500, because there's a bunch of winnable games after that (at V.Tech, vs BC, vs Pitt, at Ga Tech, vs Wake). If they get this win, I could see 8 wins on the season.

Very nice win today. 4-0 with a tough stretch coming up. I know he won't come close to winning the Heisman, but Shrader is having a monster season so far:

18-24 (75.0%), 257 yds, 4 td, 1 int, 8 rushes, 40 yds, 5.0 y/c
19-30 (63.0%), 286 yds, 1 td, 0 int, 3 rushes, 31 yds, 10.3 y/c, 1 td
14-28 (50.0%), 184 yds, 0 td, 1 int, 25 rushes, 195 yds, 7.8 y/c, 4 td
21-26 (80.1%), 245 yds, 1 td, 1 int, 10 rushes, 50 yds, 5.0 y/c, 1 td

TOT: 72-108 (66.7%), 972 yds, 9.0 y/a, 6 td, 3 int, 46 rushes, 316 yds, 6.9 y/c, 6 td

SU sucks, plain and simple. That great start is totally in the rear view mirror. Dino has to go.

1. It would be amazing to get a top tier recruiter as our HC.

2. It's a wee bit easier recruiting to Georgia than it will be to recruit to Syracuse, so expect his rankings as a recruiter to plummet once he gets to the Salt City. (not trying to be pessimistic, just realistic)

3. Going from DB coach to HC is quite a leap, but he seems highly respected.

4. Personally, I'm happy that SU is looking at recruiting another HC who is a man of color.

I'm on board.

I gotta say, this is the most excited I have been as a Syracuse fan since the McNabb era.

We are flipping guys from schools like A&M and Colorado. We just flipped a 4 star WR from ACC rival Stanford. We are being strongly linked to McCord, the Ohio State starting QB last year, and we have an OV from a 4 star from Texas A&M this weekend on Sunday. The other school he is visiting on Saturday? Alabama.

We probably will lose that one but to be in the final 2 with Alabama? This is insane. Fran Brown has made is his personal mission to own the Northeast and at this point, who knows?
