If it's really "just the tip", he should be able to play. I'd be very surprised if he doesn't.

No real risk, maybe lose a bit of shooting touch due to the pain.

I imagine he plays too (and it's not like this is the sort of thing that will be better by game 6 if he rests), but a broken bone in the index finger on the dominant hand of a jump shooter seems like a pretty big deal.

Yeah I think that I would have kept that info to myself if I were him and just taped it to the middle finger and taken a couple of tylenol pre game. Will hurt like a MF if he bangs it, but it's up to him how much pain he can take. It's not an ACL or even the thumb UCL.

Or even a finger fracture at the joint where you could displace it more, risk arthritis or a tendon injury etc. A distal tuft fracture can definitely be played with but if he shoots 5 for 20 he has a good excuse.

And I agree, probably woulda been best to just say he has a sore hand then made a game time decision about playing...

I'd be worried about someone targeting the hand just to take him off his game. He's at risk for swipes at it anyway and probably will take a few zingers in the normal course of action, but letting everyone know is just asking for it.

But the Warriors don’t really have anyone who would do such a thing.

Agreed, yesterday was a squander and it's looming even bigger now.
They certainly had a chance last night, but they went into the 4th down 10 and had to work to get it back to a chance at the win.

IMO, the real squander was letting the Dubs off the mat without Draymond in game 3, where they just laid a total egg. Letting Kevon Looney gobble up 20 rebounds (including 9 on offense) while also having 9 assists is just insanity. They lost every statistical category, missed 36 3's, and of their 15 turnovers, 12 were Dubs steals leading to transition buckets.

They had an open shot to win it at the end, though. That's where you have to convert

True, but missing a ~40% chance at the game winner is in no way "squandering"
Barnes had no one in front of him. If he sunk toward the pain, Fox could have dropped the ball to him and he could have driven to the rim to probably get fouled.

We all have our preferences, and undoubtedly there are those who love his analysis, but I find Reggie Miller almost unlistenable.

You didn't like him waxing poetically about how the Heat have completely turned around their season since the ASB? 32-27 pre ASB, 12-11 post ASB.

The fingertip is part of the ball.

I love how Miller couldn't even finish that thought about Love. "one of the best shooting big men...." He's shooting under 30% since Miami signed him.

Looks like Giannis is allowed to go through the body of an offensive player to make a block. That's some bullshit right there.
Lots of stars in the league, but the only two who just clearly get to play by a different rule book/whistle are Giannis and Draymond. LeBron has earned it, but doesn’t really get an egregiously different whistle than he deserves. Embiid is close to the first list.

Adebayo has been terrible this entire playoffs for the Heat (including the play-in in that)

Yup….he has plateaued as a really good player who needs to be third best guy on a team. He seemed like he might be more
