Yawn. Probably.
First big team event post-LIV. Thursday-Sunday at Quail Hollow in NC. The format is a little different than the Ryder Cup. The team session have 5 matches each as opposed to 4. They also spread it out a little with one session on Thursday and Friday, then a double dip on Saturday prior to Sunday singles.
The US is a huge favorite, the most recent money line I saw was -700. This is always a rough go for the Internationals, especially on US soil, but LIV decimated them.
Team USA (Davis Love III captain)
Scottie Scheffler
Justin Thomas
Jordan Spieth
Collin Morikawa
Patrick Cantlay
Xander Schauffele
Max Homa
Kevin Kisner
Cam Young
Billy Horschel
Tony Finau
Sam Burns
Team International (Trevor Immelman captain)
Hideki Matsuyama
Sungjae Im
Tom Kim
Corey Connors
Adam Scott
Mito Pereira
MacKenzie Hughes
KH Lee
Erik Van Rooyan
Adam Hadwin
Ryan Fox
Sebastian Munoz
They lost Smith, Niemann, Ancer, Oosthuizen and perhaps Leish to LIV. Probably won't make a huge difference in the outcome, but that really sucks.
In 2019 down in Australia the US rallied in singles to win 16-14. The last PC played in the US was 2017 and it was a slaugter, the US was half a point away from clinching the Cup on Saturday. The final was 19-11.
Hard to get super pumped for this but maybe it'll provide a little excitement.
