If Malnati or Lowry make play the final few holes over par, cut moves to +2. Rooting for a water ball on 17!
And Scott Piercey provides but tossing 2 into the water, and posting a tight 7 on 17

Malnati and Watney held served, but Piercy was held accountable by the course and moves it to +2 AND misses the cut himself.

Had to feel a bit for Piercy. After the 7 on 17, needed par on 18 to make the cut and 3 putted. Ouch.

Yeah it was rough. Even his second water ball on 17 landed 20-25 feet out into the middle of the green and spun off.

Sometimes the hype machine gets a bit much. Admittedly it is partially being the guy already near the top of the mind, and add in the fact we saw most every shot he took yesterday, but hearing about Justin Thomas round yesterday being somehow one of the greatest rounds in history pushing it a bit for me. Especially when Bubba Watson posted a better score in the exact same conditions; although, mostly off camera

Lol I think Harold Varner III had to buy a sweater in the pro shop. He’s sponsored by Jordan but he’s wearing a generic Players Championship logo’d sweater.

Rarely see the in between hole walk there. Bratty little kids asking Ancer and his group "Can I get a Ball" in between holes , especially after he bogied the easiest par 4 on the course. Come on parents, control the kids

Patton Kizzrie with just an absolute shank of a wedge on 17. must have missed the green by 30 yards or more

If they start the 4th round at noon off split tees, the leaders should go out at around 2pm. That sets up for the 6:30 finish they're hoping for, and leaves time for a playoff, if necessary.

Believe weather is dicey tomorrow. 1:01 start means even a 5-hour round is completed with a reasonable amount of daylight left for a playoff if necessary.

Definitely a weird leaderboard but should still be a fun final round. 19 players within 4 shots of the lead on a course you can comeback on.

I saw them talking to the tournament director on Friday when they stopped play. The plan (at the time) was to finish the final round around 5 or so today which leaves time for a playoff without having to think about going to tomorrow. These tee times should let that happen

Rahm just made a 9 on #4.
That's amazing. That is basically a tiny, but tough par 4.

Munoz being brutalized by the first hole at the moment. Nice shot from the rough, so probably just a double

Nobody wants to win this thing. Smith came right back to the field and now Lahiri hitting from a picnic area

This is absolute chaos. We could see someone finish on 9 and win!

Watching on and off during work today,. Has it seemed like an inordinate amount of missed short putts today?

Smith gets that one huge break you sometimes need to win these things. As he pulls one left that bounces off a youngster, and pops back into a decent position to play from. might have been worse if it doesn't hit the spectator

And then Smith wastes the break with a poor second shot

The Paris of the 80s
Smith looks like he's waaay into the woods.

Casey just got screwed landing in someone's ball mark in the fairway. He's going to have to blade it out.

Bradley behind a tree. Everybody bad or screwed now.
