I CAN NOT wait for this season to start. There is very very little to watch on Saturdays in the summer.
Will the SEC reign supreme once again this season?

If Texas wins 7 games I’ll be a bit surprised and happy. I expect more suckageSomeone voted Texas number one in the USA Today preseason poll. Magnificent troll job.
Alabama is going to play "name your score" in Austin. Sark is doing an absolutely masterful recruiting job right now, but I have so little faith in his on-field coaching abilities. Maybe Bijan can run away with the Heisman to make it an interesting year.
One of the most humble humans I’ve ever met.Steve Worster, the first feature back in Darrel Royal's wishbone offense, a two-time All-American, and a member of the '69 and '70 Texas national championship teams, died. He was only 73.
The most logical place for the sport to be run outside of the NCAA would be under the auspices of the CFP, which was discussed on the call. The CFP currently oversees the sport's postseason playoff and has contractual ties to other marquee postseason bowl games.
Sources cautioned that these discussions are in such early stages that it could be considered the first steps of a complicated process that would resemble a marathon. The sources added that the group spoke about the idea for only about five minutes, as it was raised as something the group should think more about down the line.
big ten is going to 20 or 24 teams by 2036 so will the secBig Ten just signed a 7-year, $7 billion media rights deal with Fox/CBS/NBC. For CFB, Fox will have a game at Noon, CBS starting in '24 will have a 3:30 game, and NBC will have a 7:30 or 8 pm game. Other games will be on FS1, BTN, and Peacock. There's escalators in the deal that make it worth up to $10 billion so that indicates they may not be done expanding.
arkansas should win ciny lost too much on offBama and Ohio St are gonna be double-digit faves in all their games this year. Stoked for Cincy @ Arkansas, should be a fun game.
For the non-lawyers, what's the mistake they made? It's as though the NCAA is intentionally trying to lose these cases...
https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/34509443/board-managers-decide-12-team-college-football-playoff-sources-sayThe College Football Playoff's board of managers voted Friday to expand the CFP to 12 teams in 2026, but is encouraging the sport's commissioners to try to implement it as soon as 2024, multiple sources told ESPN.
The 11 presidents and chancellors comprising the board approved the original 12-team model, which includes the six highest-ranked conference champions and six at-large teams, as determined by the CFP selection committee. The 10 FBS commissioners and Notre Dame athletic director Jack Swarbrick will meet next week in Dallas to figure out the details.
Nope, me either. But yes, I'll 100% watch.Yea not a fan of 12 at all. 5 & 6 barely have a right for the title, but now 7-12? No thanks. Of course I'll watch but it'll be blowout city baby.
I know the AAC just got gutted, but their champ has been ranked higher than the Pac 12's going into the bowls in three of the last four seasons. If the expansion stops more or less now, you'd have these 6:
SEC
Big 10
Big 12
ACC
Pac 12
One from AAC, SBC, CUSA, MWC, MAC,
SEC gets 3 spots and the Big Ten only guaranteed 1? That’s a joke.I would have gone with 7, top seed getting a bye.
New B1G winner a spot
SEC 3 spots
3 at large among ACC winner, small/new PAC-10, small/new Big 8, highest ranking small conference school, 2nd B1G, 4th SEC.
I can understand it at a school like Nebraska that has the Big Ten money cannon. Not sure if Georgia Tech has some well-motivated and well-funded boosters who wrote a check just to be done with him. Nevertheless, Andy Staples wrote a good article right before FSU paid Taggert a huge buyout about the costs of fan apathy if he were to be retained, so I may be way off on the math that goes into these sorts of things.Hearing that GTech is buying out Geoff Collins for something in the neighborhood of $10m. These buyout numbers are silly money.
Amazing that Geoff Collins has used the triple option as a built-in excuse meanwhile Georgia Southern moved on from the Paul Johnson tree and immediately implemented an effective modern passing offense. But at least they get to watch a modern offense! Paul Johnson averaging 7+ wins a season was just intolerable.
Conclusion—the Dukes are for real! So, just so I'm clear:
--App St beats Texas A&M on the road
--App St loses at home to JMU
--JMU beats MTSU by 37 points
--MTSU beats Miami on the road
Taylen Green, future Heisman winner and 1st round pick.Boise State, after their worst offensive display (and increasing frequency of crap performaces) in my 40 years as fan, fires Offensive Coordinator, Tim Plough. Dirk Koetter, who was with the team as a consultant (and is former HC AND son plays there), takes over.
Today, 4 year starting quarterback, Hank Bachmeier, enters the transfer portal - with 2 years to play.
Cue Taylen Green, the rebuild starts now!
What's the background on this? You (stanford administrators) just proved the trees point.
