That was a really disappointing loss at St. John’s. The fact that they lost on the road to a desperate and somewhat talented team is forgivable, but to dig themselves an 18-point deficit only to climb within 2 at the half, before relenting again felt like losing the game twice. The story was painfully simple: Shooting 24 of 72 doesn’t get it done in the Big East. Bynum and Locke were ice cold — those guys need to hit shots to create room for Hopkins and Carter to slash.
