Schauffele must have really yanked the crap out of that iron. With the slope of the green and the pin location, no reason to hit it anywhere near the pin.
He yanked it and then it got worse from there.Schauffele must have really yanked the crap out of that iron. With the slope of the green and the pin location, no reason to hit it anywhere near the pin.
Yeah, but he looks like a sickly scarecrow. He needs a makeover.Zalatoris is the real deal.
I would say he added a big data point to his case this weekend . Be interesting to see if he rides the momentum of this to some wins the rest of this season. And outstanding job by Matsuyama. Never let the small hiccups turn into disasters. Calm, focused, excellent golf. And a well deserved win.is Zalatoris gonna be on the Ryder Cup team?
Seeing his emotion after was very cool and he 100% deserved this win. Good to see him finally break through.Awesome job, Hideki. Happy for him
Is there any health related back story to how thin he is? I mean , he is a wraith. That was a lot of suboptimal shots on Sunday to win. But the short/scramble game was pretty darned good, as were two lucky breaks. Congrats to Hideki and Japan.
And dear Will, please eat a burger.

Zalatoris is now 23rd after The Masters. Top 12:is Zalatoris gonna be on the Ryder Cup team?
I think there's only 6 automatic qualifiers with the new rules. So 6 automatics and 6 captain picks. I think the 8 highlighted guys are locks and Finau is close to a lock. So we'll say 9 spots spoken for at the moment. If Zalatoris continues his current play you can certainly make a case for him over any of the remaining guys depending on their form for the rest of the season. Reed is another wild card if he doesn't automatically qualify, given he's not a very popular locker room guy. So we could potentially be talking about 4 open spots at the moment if the automatic qualifiers convince Stricker to leave Reed out.Zalatoris is now 23rd after The Masters. Top 12:

I love Will Z but I think that's going to be a tough mountain to climb before September. I think 10 spots are locked in. Horschel can be overtaken and I'm not enthused by Webb's recent form so maybe that one could also be up for grabs. If I was in charge, barring injury or a really bad run of play, I would take Cantlay over either of them. That really only leaves 1 spot open. Unless Brooks pulls out with injury, but he's got 5 months to get it together.
I think Webb will be fine. He had a good master's and is moving on to Harbor Town where he won last year and I expect him to play well defending. I wonder if the PGA will pair Webb and Will the two Wake guys together this week in Hilton Head.Zalatoris is now 23rd after The Masters. Top 12:

Webb is pretty consistent and he's chill. I think he would be a great add for the team. And his overall Ryder record is respectable, as he's outperformed the team the three times he's played.I think Webb will be fine.
