James Harden weeps. This is a beautiful thing.
“NOT THIS YEAR. goodbye jumping into the defender fouls.”
I think that it's a good no-call, like the rule of verticality challenges. Offensive player initiates there too, and it's a good no-call. If guys aren't getting to the line, they'll stop doing it.I can't decide if I like that it is no-call, or whether it should be an offensive
thanks WBCD$40 a month for five months, right, as LP Is $200? https://watch.nba.com/streaming-subscriptions
I haven't re-upped yet but that sounds right (either that or $50 a month for four months). I think Xfinity also gives me the option to pay in full if I want.
not cheap bastard - more like humblebrag.thanks WBCD
I must sound like a cheap bastard. BUT found it odd I couldn't just opt to pay in full
Rather have him than Jabari.View: https://twitter.com/ShamsCharania/status/1445545367894835200
Sekou Doumbouya who the Nets got back in their salary dump of DeAndre salary dumped with a 2nd to HOU. A little surprised that HOU is gonna cut him. The guy hasn't been good, but he was a mid-1st and he's still only 20.
Why would you rather have a non-NBA player than a mediocre one?Rather have him than Jabari.
My guess is because if you're using the 15th spot that guy isn't playing much if at all, so a 20 year old who might get better is a more interesting punt than a vet with no knees who is a liability on one end. Jabari's not a mediocre NBA player, he's a fringe NBA player. Why would you rather have a non-NBA player than a mediocre one?
Are we rebuilding or are we playing to compete for the NBA Finals? Doumbouya “may” be able to contribute to a winning team someday and there are teams in the league that could give him that chance with time…….this isn’t that team however and if the choice of the better player right now between the two it is pretty clearly Jabari, even though he may not even be on the team.Nobody is arguing that Jabari isn't better, just that he's probably not really good enough to have a roster spot and at 7 years in the league with bad knees, no athleticism and no outside shot he's an extremely limited piece. One you might choose to replace with a player who has a small chance to be an NBA quality player in a year or two. (Though actually you could keep both by giving him a 2 way, if he clears waivers he's eligible). Interesting wrinkle on DARKO there... it has Jabari as a positive on defense, I 100% don't believe that. At all. Nor does any NBA team. DOumbouya is a better defender than Jabari was when he had knees. He's played very little, there is a chance he becomes a decent defender and competent bench player.
Personally I'd cut Jabari and sign someone better than Doumbouya and offer Doumbouya a 2 way, because I think there are guys out there (including some of the camp guys) who are better than either.
I mean, if we're giving minutes to Jabari Parker we definitely aren't competing for the title. Are we rebuilding or are we playing to compete for the NBA Finals? I wouldn’t say this is true at all. Jabari gave us some very good minutes in the Brooklyn series last year. Obviously not ideal but there isn’t a chance in hell that Doumbouya could have played those minites without embarrassing himself much less competing and producing like Jabari did.I mean, if we're giving minutes to Jabari Parker we definitely aren't competing for the title.
Edit- to be more clear, I think neither should be on the 15 man, but also, I recognize that the 15th man shouldn't and won't have any impact on a season unless he's a young guy who takes some wildly unexpected leap, so even a title contender can use it for a development project without much concern. I mean last year the Bucks used roster spots on Dragan Bender and Giannis's brother
I didn't think the minutes were that good, but it also proves the point. Last year's team wasn't a contender, it wasn't close to a contender, and that Jabari played minutes proved it, he played because we had a combination of injuries and other bad players that led to the 14th man getting time, it's why we overhauled the depth of the squad this offseason.I mean, if we're giving minutes to Jabari Parker we definitely aren't competing for the title.

Its almost certainly deliberate but is that really off the back of a no call? Or does Draymond have beef with Rivers? Because that looked personal.View: https://twitter.com/NBAMemes/status/1445949400941953025
Draymond didn't get a call, so he came down the other end and did this. By far the dirtiest player in the league.. taking cheap shots in pre-season?
That’s weak from Draymond. He’s in the DWade dirty category when he’ll keep getting away with this and nobody will really call it out.View: https://twitter.com/NBAMemes/status/1445949400941953025

https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/32354861/former-nba-players-charged-4m-health-care-fraud-schemeEighteen former NBA players have been charged with defrauding the league's health and welfare benefit plan out of about $4 million, according to an indictment Thursday in New York.
Federal prosecutors planned a news conference for noon ET Thursday to describe the case that was brought in Manhattan federal court. By late morning, 16 of the defendants were in custody, authorities said.
According to the indictment, the former players engaged in a widespread scheme to defraud the plan by submitting false and fraudulent claims to get reimbursed for medical and dental expenses that were never actually incurred.
So it begins. One of the least likely candidates on the team to get injured.
I think it began with Ariza's ankle surgery. So it begins. One of the least likely candidates on the team to get injured.

Most of those guys are starters (including Poole). But this is the off-season thread, and I think I was just posting the preseason scoring leaders to date, not “using” them?Using per 36 numbers for bench players is already a pretty big question mark. Using them FROM THE PRESEASON? It's going to be a loooooong season...
Isn't OPJ hitting something like 58% of 3Ps during the preseason? I also read somewhere that he thinks he's healthy. Will be excellent add for GSW if true.OPJ is looking like a huge add for the Warriors, if he can hold together physically…

Yeah, 56% in a tiny sample (14-25). But he’s been hitting in the rarefied 40%-plus range from three for a few years now — just hasn’t been able to stay on the floor long enough for people to really take notice. Excellent rebounder and solid defender, too. And just turned 28. Basically an ideal Kerr-ball 4, if he can hold his body together…Isn't OPJ hitting something like 58% of 3Ps during the preseason? Love T Mann. Happy for him. Thanks, Rudy for getting lit up on the big stage last year. You just made Terance a rich manTerance Mann got 2/$22m yesterday.

Jeeeeeez! I knew he had ballooned, but didn’t know he had gone Full Kemp. Fewer beignets, kid.Time table - Pelicans do not know when Zion will return from foot surgery.
Dinner table - Pretty sure Zion will be there within the hour. (2021 media day in white, 2019 in dark)
