A modern day Starr vs Dawson.Could this all be foreshadowing the State Farm Bowl?
Mahomes vs Rodgers?
And 2 inches in the NFC (SEA-SF Week 17). Crazy league.1 yard altered the entire AFC playoffs. Pretty amazing.
There was a pretty good story in the NYT today about the decline of home field advantage.Blues, Nationals, Titans. Patriots a little last year even though they got the bye.
Getting hot at the right time matters.
100% approve.Oh, Harbaugh getting his pompous ass kicked in his own house is just so, so delicious.
THANK YOU VRABEL!!!
Philly fan here that would love nothing more than to see Reid win. All my Eagle fan buds feel the same way. Go Chefs.I don't like the Ravens since they were the snitches that started Deflategate. And I'm happy for Vrabel. I would rather see Chiefs go to SB and win it since Reid has been so unlucky in big games. And there are actually a decent amount of Philly idiots who are rooting against him because he didn't win it all there. I live in Philly area and I really wouldn't mind Reid and Chiefs winning it all.
You weren't by any chance in South Park Slope, Brooklyn, were you? They’re frantically packing away the pulled pork and coleslaw in doggie bags and offering it to all attendees.
Just to add onto this, teams have run 90+ offensive plays in a game only 72 times in the past 50 seasons, and 42 of those were games that went to OT. So, yeah, it doesn't happen very often. Those teams have gone 36-28-8.Titans are averaging more yards per play. Difference is that the Ravens have run 92 plays. 92! That's, um, a lot
The Titans DL murdered Baltimore up front. I’m not sure our front would have been capable of that.I don't know if the Pats offense would have been able to get there this season, but I think that they probably would have beaten Baltimore if they played again. Jackson and the RPO was lethal, but Tennessee played a lot of zone, let Jackson have some time to throw and kept him in the pocket and he made some mistakes. It has only been two seasons so it is really SSS, but it kind of feels like an NBA thing, where a player can be great during the regular season but during the playoffs the games slow down, each play matters just a bit more, and the game changes. IDK, might be bullshit because football is so different but I just think that the Pats would have been able to adjust and slow down Baltimore's offense similar to what Tennessee did tonight.
Titans are terrifically coached. They control the clock, avoid turnovers and take care of business when they get in the red zone. Their kicker hasn't attempted a field goal since Week 13.
It’s not about us. Key question is whether Watt and Houston could. The Titans DL murdered Baltimore up front. I’m not sure our front would have been capable of that.
Yeah that’s fairly typical of any fandom. The Russell Street Report forum is in full meltdown between discussing if this was worse than The Cundiff Game, blaming Week 17 resting, trading Lamar Jackson, firing they coaching staff and signing AB in the offseason.
Behold the field in which he grows his fvcks. That vrabel tweet above, reminiscent of BB and Derrick Mason. The Patriot Way is strong with this one.
Todd Gurley? How many RB are bad for 2.5 seasons then morph into the best RB ever?
That was the game, really. Jackson was pressured on almost every possession and the RPO was blown up before it could even develop. The Titans DL murdered Baltimore up front. I’m not sure our front would have been capable of that.
While I’m sure the moods were similar at both parties, the one I was at was in San Diego.Y

Co-Coach of my son's baseball team is a ginormous Ravens fan and every party he's hosted they make pulled pork and slaw. Couldn't be...
How much was garbage time yardage though? Lots of empty stats from the Ravens last night. Similar to Pats-Texans this year.Multiple similarities between this team and the 2010 Pats:
-Both went 14-2 and got the #1 seed
-Both had historically great regular seasons (Pats were 5th best all-time in DVOA, Ravens were 7th best)
-Both had the best offense in the league
-Both had the MVP at QB
-Both had a game breaking young talent (Gronk, Jackson)
-Both lost to the 6 seed in the divisional round
Let's hope their next ten years don't mirror what the Pats did.
Baltimore out-gained Tennesssee 530-300, and lost by multiple scores. How many times do you see that combination?
Flip side of that is that teams that rush for 200 yards, which the Titans did, win 88% of games (Football reference on 1110 games from 1978 thru 2009 is the most current stat I could find). #SmashMouthBaltimore out-gained Tennesssee 530-300, and lost by multiple scores. Not too worried about the Ravens doing what the Pats just did for a decade.Multiple similarities between this team and the 2010 Pats:

The other Exhibit B clip with Thomas abandoning his pursuit of Henry is more damaging, but getting less attention.I’m no expert but Thomas was in no position to make that tackle. Henry is fast as hell, obviously.
Tannehill has passed for 160 yards total in 2 playoff games. That’s insane.Flip side of that is that teams that rush for 200 yards, which the Titans did, win 88% of games (Football reference on 1110 games from 1978 thru 2009 is the most current stat I could find). #SmashMouth

As far as I can tell, it's the first time it's happened in NFL history.Baltimore out-gained Tennesssee 530-300, and lost by multiple scores. How many times do you see that combination?
True, but the Ravens had absolutely no problem moving the ball last night, especially in the second half. They had drives of 39 yards, 60 yards, 68 yards, 69 yards and 83 yards, and came away with just 6 points. That's incredible. The Pats did wrack up the garbage yards at the end of the game, but since they were finishing drives late they did have a non-zero chance at the end to win.How much was garbage time yardage though? Yes, but with 3 passing TDs and 1 rushing TD. Still nuts though.Tannehill has passed for 160 yards total in 2 playoff games. That’s insane.
11-18 on third down conversions, including some long ones. Huge chunk plays. 8.6 plays per drive. The score is almost impossible to explain or you would think replicate. It is the result of three turnovers and repeated fourth down conversion failures after long drives.True, but the Ravens had absolutely no problem moving the ball last night, especially in the second half.
