Missing the NCAA tourney for the first time in 24 years. But I don't want the narrative to be "they missed it due to Covid". I want it to be "they missed it because they sucked this year", because that's the truth.Duke's canceling the season due to COVID. Curious if they'd do the same if they didn't suck.
Things are going well in NCAA land. So far those three schools have been removed from the conference tourney's because of Covid outbreaks on the teamDuke, Virginia and now Kansas. My guess is it won’t end with those 3.
So one positive test, with a greater than zero chance of it be a false positive, eliminates a school from the entire tournament next week or is this only for the conference tournaments? The next couple of weeks have the potential to be among the most embarrassing ever for the NCAA. Could you imagine if a Baylor or a Gonzaga had their season ended due to a positive test of their assistant trainer?View: https://twitter.com/GoodmanHoops/status/1370444930376687617

They lost, no one wants to match up against OK State.Baylor is on the ropes.
Would you slot the B12 as the second best conference after the Big10 this season?I've seen Baylor 4 times. Granted they've been very entertaining, but they're 2-2 in those games, several poor 2nd halfs, a couple possessions from 1-3. Don't look dominant at all. B12-2 competition is great, I'll grant that

Visions of the Syracuse championship run. Peak late with an unstoppable freshman giving everyone confidence that they could run the table. They lost, no one wants to match up against OK State.
Just utter disarray in both games the past two days.Ohio State is absolutely awful at trying to close out a game in the last 4 minutes against a good team. 4 times in the last 8 days.
At least Ohio State managed to win 3 of the 4 games after collapsing late.
Is Bama a 1 seed if they win tomorrow?
Fun fact - he’s still not been punished by the ncaa.Rick Pitino leads Iona to the MAAC Championship. Before winning 4 games in this tournament, Iona had only played 5 games since December 23rd.
Boeheim got suspended and lost wins because an assistant coach wrote a paper for a player. Rick Pitino was involved in a money scandal involving sneaker companies and players, plus he had a huge sex scandal. And hasn’t been punished at ALL by the NCAA.Fun fact - he’s still not been punished by the ncaa.
My son is a senior at Georgetown and a huge fan of their sports. He was president this year of the student organization that organizes the student section, arranges trips to away games, etc... this year. It has been a huge disappointment that the club had been hardly able to do anything this year, and it's been a frustrating four years to be a Georgetown basketball fan.* The expectations coming into this year were zero after all the turmoil the program went through last year, and then they lost to Navy early this year. Yikes! People were starting to wonder if Ewing needed to go. The team got a lot better in the second half of the season but was still able to put up some stinkers, like the last regular season game when they were embarrassed by UConn. Completely unexpected championship here, which makes it all the sweeter. And I’m so happy for Patrick Ewing. that’s an incredible run Georgetown just had.
They are picked last in the Big East. Huge, massive turnaround. My son is a senior at Georgetown and a huge fan of their sports. *. They did win a national title in men's soccer last year which made up for some of it, but still...

The NCAA is completely corrupt.
Does the committee seed based on body of work or based on the team which the school will put on the floor in the tournament? If it’s the latter you can make a case for Alabama over Michigan if Livers is finished. Is Bama a 1 seed if they win tomorrow?
Go Beavs!Dam. Beavers actually won the Conference of Champions Tourney for the first time ever and stole a bid.
Without a doubt. Day games, especially on the real coast, not Nevada, are even better so he can comment on the nature.Go Beavs!
I only want Bill Walton doing my west coast hoops commentary.
The NCAA is now scrambling to figure out how to get Duke in now. Maybe spike a test or two this week?Dam. Beavers actually won the Conference of Champions Tourney for the first time ever and stole a bid.
Duke doesn't deserve to be in the 16-team NIT field, never mind the NCAA. If the NCAA somehow lets them in, it's going to be an absolute travesty. The NCAA is now scrambling to figure out how to get Duke in now. Maybe spike a test or two this week?
The conspiracy theorist in me believes that a NCAA committee mole tipped Coach K off that if he could get two wins then find a way to shut it down they would ensure he’s in.Duke doesn't deserve to be in the 16-team NIT field, never mind the NCAA. I mean sure, greater than zero, but still not a good chance. Duke just isn't that good this year. The conspiracy theorist in me believes that a NCAA committee mole tipped Coach K off that if he could get two wins then find a way to shut it down they would ensure he’s in.
The crazy thing was that there was a significantly greater than zero chance that Duke runs through that tournament Kemba-style.
Neither was Georgia Tech, who lost to Duke once and went to OT with them the other time, who just won the ACC Tournament. They also lost to Georgia St and Mercer earlier in the year. My point was only that the door was wide open for them as it was for others in the ACC without any one dominant team.I mean sure, greater than zero, but still not a good chance. Duke just isn't that good this year.
Depends if UVA is 100% healthy and availableWow, the West region looks really good for Gonzaga.
Zags scored 102 on Kansas, 99 on Iowa and 98 on Virginia.Wow, the West region looks really good for Gonzaga.
