Presumably not for the same reason the Red Sox won't when returning from Atlanta, Tampa, etc. But so much is subject to change over the next few months it's hard to make any definitive statements about how this season will play out.Per Governor Baker's 14 day quarantine orders when returning from high risk states, will BC student athletes have to quarantine when they return from road games?
Got it, and makes sense. I wouldn't be happy if my child went to BC (insert any university) and was on the same dorm floor as a student athlete who is traveling up and down the East coast every week. These university presidents should be thinking about what is best for the greater student population and are blinded by football money.; and I get it their job is to make money for the university. I don't know what the right answer is but it's a complex issue.Presumably not for the same reason the Red Sox won't when returning from Atlanta, Tampa, etc. But so much is subject to change over the next few months it's hard to make any definitive statements about how this season will play out.
Part of the quarantine order includes an OR if they have a negative rapid test result within 72 hours of entering(returning to) Massachusetts. So that may very well be a part of their plan.Got it, and makes sense. now we just need the team to be granted one and it might be a fun yearJurk has been granted an immediate play waiver.
According to her, schedule re-release should be any minuteThe unsung hero of the waiver is former BC soccer player, and more importantly friend of me and Bernie, BCDee. She started the #FreeJurk and kept tweeting media, NCAA and that French school... did it help? Who really knows but she kept it on their feeds many times a day
BC's schedule is as follows
Have to make a decision on my tickets - my two good football friends are probably just going to roll over their ticket money to 2021. As I will with mine.https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/acc-football-schedule-2020-team-by-team-breakdown-of-opponents-including-notre-dame-amid-covid-19-shakeup/Boston College
Home: Georgia Tech, Louisville, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Pitt
Away: Clemson, Duke, Syracuse, Virginia, Virginia Tech
They don't play division rivals Florida State, Wake Forrest, and NC State.
Sorry for the OT, but how does this happen?Have to make a decision on my tickets - my two good football friends are probably just going to roll over their ticket money to 2021. As I will with mine.
Not being an official alum of the school, but having lived on the campus for close to three years while I went to another college - my season ticket retention is my annual contribution/tithe to the school. Something that some, outside of the BC community, cannot comprehend.
Odd - Notre Dame is, in effect, playing this year as a member of the ACC, or , shall I say "eligible for the ACC title game".
If you're asking about Notre Dame - I don't know but when I received the e-mail a couple weeks back, Notre Dame was added to the schedule with (I think) an asterisk - they will be eligible for the ACC title game.Sorry for the OT, but how does this happen?
You are very loyal. I can not understand why the AC lets ND to get away with it.If you're asking about Notre Dame - I don't know but when I received the e-mail a couple weeks back, Notre Dame was added to the schedule with (I think) an asterisk - they will be eligible for the ACC title game.
If you're asking about living on the campus, that was back in the early 1970s. I'm an old man now.
If you're asking about why I renew my seats every year, it's my contribution to the school. I could give the money directly to the Fides or Flynn fund but I'm not in a position to itemize on my taxes anymore, so the ~$600 or so "contribution" helps the school, and getting to go to home games with a seat on the 35-yard line is, as I see it, a bonus.
She is definitely a passionate fan. Met her and her husband (a huge Clemson fan and alum) at the BC/Clemson game. Moose ... hope you are well! The unsung hero of the waiver is former BC soccer player, and more importantly friend of me and Bernie, BCDee. @doldmoose34 calling Adazzio "the Fauci of Fort Collins" will forever be the funniest thing I've ever heard.Meanwhile, over at Colorado ”Covid“ State...
“Colorado State president Joyce McConnell has responded to a report that football coaches at the school were attempting to cover up COVID-19 cases and told players not to report their symptoms.”
I assume many head coaches are doing similar things -- Heck, Nick Saban probably throws all the testing kits into the Black Warrior River at the end of every practice and then tersely reports"no positives" to the compliant SEC press.@doldmoose34 calling Adazzio "the Fauci of Fort Collins" will forever be the funniest thing I've ever heard.
Addazio may be gone before he even starts. This is a statement from the AD.I assume many head coaches are doing similar things -- Heck, Nick Saban probably throws all the testing kits into the Black Warrior River at the end of every practice and then tersely reports"no positives" to the compliant SEC press.
So where was this ruthlessness when Adazzio was at BC?
Well, a 42-42 record don't give you the Petrino Armor.Addazio may be gone before he even starts. https://footballscoop.com/news/breaking-update-colorado-state/
I slept on a couch in the mods. I used the libraries. I bought football tickets (and still have them). Gotta give back. I always tell people, that's where I grew up and became a man.Pretty neat trick for a non-BC student living on the BC campus back in the day where housing there was hard to get (I lived in Framingham and was told I couldn't get a room there my freshman year at least; hence, I went elsewhere).
BC now loses it's season opener now that the MAC has cancelled for the fall.BC's schedule is as follows
9/12 vs Ohio U
9/19 at Duke
9/26 BYE
10/3 vs. Pitt
10/10 vs. UNC
10/17 at VT
10/24 vs GT
10/31 at Clemson
11/7 at Syracuse
11/14 vs. ND
11/21 BYE
11/27 vs. Louisville
12/5 at Virginia
This dude sounds legit. I love early returns on Hafley. The Eagles have picked up Univ. of California transfer DE Luc Bequette.
https://www.si.com/college/cal/news/bequette-transfers-to-bc
Man Hafley was a fucking home run. This program is going to be in amazing shape within a couple of years.
I just hope we don't have to wait too long to see that the optimism in this thread is well-founded.This dude sounds legit. I love early returns on Hafley.
He deserves the same latitude as every new coach. I’m comfortable in predicting that if he doesn’t succeed, it won’t be because he’s complacent or stubborn. This is a guy who “gets it”.I just hope we don't have to wait too long to see that the optimism in this thread is well-founded.
I meant when it is safe to play again. Well safe from coronavirus. He deserves the same latitude as every new coach. I’m comfortable in predicting that if he doesn’t succeed, it won’t be because he’s complacent or stubborn. This is a guy who “gets it”.
Ah, my bad. Agreed. This is an intriguing squad for the first time in forever.I meant when it is safe to play again. Well safe from coronavirus.
You weren't wrong. Some patience may be needed.Ah, my bad. Agreed. This is an intriguing squad for the first time in forever.
Texas State, that's not a real thing. They made that up. If they didn't want to play a game on that day they should've said so.BC has filled its non-conference game with the Texas State-San Marcos Bobcats of the Sun Belt conference. That's now the home opener, September 26, time TBA.

Exactly, a nice uni but not accurate at all. The 1984 unis had sleeve stripes and numbers above that. No "BC" like above. They're also wearing what are supposedly 1984 throwbacks. Not terribly accurate, IMO, but they do look sharp.

Yeah, I wonder why no pix of the maroon uniforms. They're also wearing what are supposedly 1984 throwbacks. Not terribly accurate, IMO, but they do look sharp.
