I’ll disagree. He would need to take a four-iron and hit a low punch cut over the corner of the bunker (maybe 120 yards to cover) without it running through the fairway on the right to be blocked out by the tree.I dunno. That’s one of he extremely rare shots I’m confident I could’ve hit better than what he chose. He was 269 from the hole. Pretty easy for him to punch it on the same line he hit his 3-wood to within wedge range, and not even flirt with the bunker on the left.
I suppose he could have bunted it fifty yards, but I think his play was right. He just started it on the wrong line.
