Last weekend (not the 100+ heat index one, the one before that) I played probably the 9 of my life at Highfields. It was a 40, which isn't my best relative to par. But I blew 2 tee shots OB (3 and 9) so that number could have been much better., especially taking out the inexcusable 3 putt. And that was with missing ever single fairway. Mostly left...
Par (pull left), Par (par 3, hit to 15 feet), Double (tee shot OB right), Bogey (tee shot in left rough, 3 putt), Par (5 iron to 20 feet), Par (miss L, approach short right, almost jarred a flop), Birdie (90 yards in from left rough), Par (pull didn't pull, SW in and two putt), Double (tee shot OB Right)
The back 9 I started to to tire some, but found a go-to tee shot.. For 15 years or so, I have been a right->left player (hence my misses right... I try to go down the right side and have the ball come back middle/middle-left). On 12, I started to hit a cut (because it fit the shape of the hole) , and felt so confident on the tee. So on 12 & 13 I hit cuts off the tee, found middle of the fairway. 14 I played straight up and hit a snapper. 15/16 I hit the cut to the middle of the fairway. 17 was a par 3 (a bad 3 putt), and 18 my cut didn't cut, but it ended up being an easy par on a par 5 (Driver/8i/Wedge/2putts )
