A little surprising that no contender saw value in him. He's a 3-point sniperSo Baynes at that contract had negative value?
Huh...

I thought it was 2022 or something. They kept mentioning it in regards to the AD tradeThis was one of the speculations that someone mentioned (Chauncey?) in the pre-draft show.
“but it didn’t work out ...”Well, it sounds like they were trying to trade up but it didn't work out. Not sure we lost anything here. Too many picks this year, and it's a weak draft. A later pick next year is probably preferable.
Aron Baynes got completely screwed! His agent should be castrated.
Baynes shooting a 3 is like a Rube Goldberg machine.A little surprising that no contender saw value in him. He's a 3-point sniper.
I wouldn't hate acquiring Russell. He provides lots of firepower for a team that will need offense, he's young enough to fit the timeline (assuming he fits the culture), and we'll forget his LA indiscretions in time.I'd love Russell but I think the board would hate it?
Out of the last 10 years, nine of them have been "terrible drafts". At this point, 90 percent of the players in the league are from these terrible drafts, and somehow, there are players winning and producing. Not clear.
Good argument that any 1st next year is more valuable than 24 this year. It's not a great draft. Cutting 8M off the cap isn't nothing either.
-Me at about the 8th pickI honestly have no idea who any of these guys are right now, except Bol Bol
There are levels, I agree drafts get talked down as they happen, but this one is legitimately considered the worst in some time outside of Zion and maybe Ja.Out of the last 10 years, nine of them have been "terrible drafts". At this point, 90 percent of the players in the league are from these terrible drafts, and somehow, there are players winning and producing.
The NBA is very different. He's converting to a stockpile next year. Not the end of the world given the team's current state. Eventually, something will work. It's happened a few times already.“but it didn’t work out ...”
Should be pinned for the next priapism outbreak occasioned by the stockpiling of picks that turn into more picks still via Belichickian “value” trades.
He's five inches too shortI love Kemba but is he a good fit for this team?
can we start the "Giannis season-ending injury" thread? Not clear.
Good argument that any 1st next year is more valuable than 24 this year. It's not a great draft. Cutting 8M off the cap isn't nothing either.
Without Horford, Kyrie and Morris, we need scoring from just about anywhere....I love Kemba but is he a good fit for this team? A ball dominant scoring PG didn’t seem to fit in that well with the glut of wings last season.
I don't think so; if they are getting a PG I'd much prefer Russell, who you can at least dream on continuing to develop and fitting the timeline of Brown/Tatum....LangfordI love Kemba but is he a good fit for this team? A ball dominant scoring PG didn’t seem to fit in that well with the glut of wings last season.
Haven’t you heard? We just picked up an extra first. What does a trade for Russell look like? I mean you’re going to have to give a way a ton.
He's a restricted free agent so it's just money. What does a trade for Russell look like? I mean you’re going to have to give a way a ton.
They know a market when they see it. Irving, Horford, AD > LA and cloning draft picks when 90% of drafts are “turrible”.Without Horford, Kyrie and Morris, we need scoring from just about anywhere....
Anyone else in Boston getting these marijuana infomercials every hour or so....Yes, yes, most of us know that we can get edibles and have for about 25 years...
Not if they sign Kyrie and don't match. I know the current rumors aren't going that way though. What does a trade for Russell look like? I mean you’re going to have to give a way a ton.
Only Wyc's money. What does a trade for Russell look like? I mean you’re going to have to give a way a ton.
We need a big 3 bigsI'm staying up, but only to send Tacko Fall vibes at Danny for the whole second round.
Yes mostly drafted in the high lottery.Out of the last 10 years, nine of them have been "terrible drafts". At this point, 90 percent of the players in the league are from these terrible drafts, and somehow, there are players winning and producing.
Not sure that comes into play even if Giannis turns an ankle.Milwaukee 1st round 2020 pick is top 8 protected...rolls over to unprotected in 2021
We really need Isiah Thomas or Magic Johnson to take over as GM for that protection to become relevant. Not sure that comes into play even if Giannis turns an ankle.
Pass, get and make free throws, also has a better NBA body with the bigger wingspanI'll ask again. What does Langford do better than Keldon Johnson?
Well no kidding. But how does that make next year's #28 more valuable than this year's #24?Yes mostly drafted in the high lottery.
Best post of the nightCleveland needs to let JR Smith take Porter under his wing.
The only reason I'm still up is to see if Bol Bol is selected in the 2nd round. If he goes undrafted I will die in peace. I'm guessing somebody has to take him at some point though. Not going to lie. I am soooooooooooooooo fucking bored.
Yes Danny Ainge, you bore me.
They are interchangeable picks and only one of them still has unrealized potential.Well no kidding. But how does that make next year's #28 more valuable than this year's #24?
Usually you get a premium for giving up the earlier pick.
In short, desperation is a stinky cologne.
