Well, Jets fans got to see a transcendent talent at Quarterback. He’s a rookie...
Just not the one they expected tonight.

Maybe now the national media will dial it back on the unwarranted Darnold love affair.
(Edit* now that they have the ball back can’t wait for this to wind up a reverse jinx and make me look dumb)

not sure the rule, but if there isn't some sort of runoff not calling that a sack immediately is a huge win for the jets

edit: 10 second runoff, that's fair, but still lucky for the jets

Holy shit! The Browns will win a freaking football game. Somewhere LeBron is sobbing.

I knew we were in trouble when I saw this game wasn’t on a Sunday. Hue still has 0 Sunday wins.

Baker is cool, I like him.

The o-line is absolute dogshit. They’re getting manhandled by the freaking Jets. It’s not all on Taylor and there’s no point to murdering Baker ala Andrew Luck.
Well. This was the wrong take. Tyrod is butt.

Browns don't win if Taylor isn't concussed right?

Taylor lost his job tonight to concussion, sucks but it is what it is.

I'll tell you what - these teams both have a chance to be halfway decent. I'm not picking either of them for the Super Bowl, but they're better than they were last year. .500 might be a stretch, but I don't think either of them is an automatic out.

Low bar, I know.

Jets are trying to cover their bad oline with scheme and it did not work at all against the Browns. The D is the best it has been in years but they were on the field a lot and played 3 games in 11 days.

We got the Jags next which is tough but at least have the mini bye

Just caught up on the DVR after watching the end of the Sox game, and I just want to say once again, when are NFL teams going to realize that when you are driving late in a game, with no timeouts, YOU NEED TO SPIKE THE BALL AFTER EVERY FIRST DOWN. The Jets got a 25 yard completion to Anderson, with about 45 seconds left, and instead of running up and clocking it, they wasted about 15 seconds getting a play set, and that play led to the sack that had to be reviewed, which took even more time, and the next play with interception.

So, instead of being 2nd and 10 with 40 seconds to go, the game is over. Good job Jets.

And this is why you don't fuck around. If you draft a QB #1 overall, and he shows any sort of competence in the preseason, you fucking put him out there, make him your starter and see what he's got. You don't waste games giving starts to a guy who couldn't cut in fucking Buffalo. Mayfield is the real deal, and I'm rooting for him.

Tyrod carried a team of corpses to the playoffs last year. But your point remains.

My dad texted me halfway through the first quarter and said whoever brings in their backup QB first will win this game. He was right.

I think it depends on the circumstances of your team. Sitting Mahomes seems to have worked out fine. Do you have an o-line, or are you at risk of David Carring the new QB? And had the Pats succeeded in getting Mayfield at #2, the longer term would be pretty sweet for us right now.

Just an awfully conceived mish-mosh of YELLING narrator, distracting graphics, and mundane narrative (teams with new coaches aren’t winning games!!).
When the CBS pre-game crew was something like Shannon Sharpe, Marino, Simms, it felt like an attempt to construct the lowest collective IQs in football and have them yell at each other.

Just got that feeling when a team lines up on 4th and goal from the 1 and you scream “oh no they’re giving it to the fullback” and then they do and it is stuffed mercilessly like every other 4th down FB dive in history.

That's going to kill a bunch of survivor pools I reckon if Minnesota doesn't come back.
