Pats getting a bye is still like 40%, too. Fly Eagles fly.More realistically, Chiefs win west and Chargers go to Pittsburgh/Baltimore in WC game, while Pats get Ravens/Steelers/Titans.
Pretty close, TN and an IND with a win both jump PIT if they lose. So, Steelers basically have to beat the Saints in New Orleans to avoid missing playoffs, right?
And they play each other week 17 so if Pit loses tomorrow, they are done unless Ravens lose at home to Cleveland, which wouldn’t be unheard of given how well the Browns are playing lately.Pretty close, TN and an IND with a win both jump PIT if they lose.
My sons are good friends with one of the young Ravens coaches. His fervent wish is to play the Patriots in the first round of the playoffs, should the patriots not get a bye; or to go to NE after the Ravens win a first round game. He sincerely believes that the Patriots, are by far, the best match-up for the Ravens and has all the confidence in the world that the Ravens get it done in NE. Obviously a bias there, but he's been saying this for 2 weeks. What are the odds it ends up Chefs, Patriots, Texans, Ravens, Chargers, whoever, then it's Chefs, Patriots, Texans, Ravens, Patriots beat the Texans, The Ravens beat the Chefs and they come here with a lights out, ball hawking defense for all the marbles.
I mean, what are the odds the Ravens ride a red hot defense and a game manager QB who all they ask of is not to turn the ball over all the way to another Super Bowl appearance.
That'll never happen, right?
I have little doubt that he's wrong. My sons are good friends with one of the young Ravens coaches. Unless Indy loses at home to the Giants today, then beats Tennessee next week, in which case the 9-6-1 Steelers would make it in over both 9-7 Indy and Tennessee. And they play each other week 17 so if Pit loses tomorrow, they are done unless Ravens lose at home to Cleveland, which wouldn’t be unheard of given how well the Browns are playing lately.
Good call. So, if today’s games go as planned with Saints and Colts winning, then Pit is in real trouble.Unless Indy loses at home to the Giants today, then beats Tennessee next week, in which case the 9-6-1 Steelers would make it in over both 9-7 Indy and Tennessee.
Go Eagles, go Colts, go Saints, go Pats - today could be a very good day and ease a ton of pain. Every AFC team is flawed. Aside from Indy and Tennessee, neither of which is capable of winning 3 straight road playoff games, I could see every other team playing in Atlanta in February.Good call. So, if today’s games go as planned with Saints and Colts winning, then Pit is in real trouble.
Now...Fly Eagles Fly!
They’re effectively two up on LAR (one game lead plus tiebreaker), so they need to win one of the final two games v PIT and CAR.Saints absolutely need today’s game if they want 1 seed and domes throughout.
Well that’s too bad. Thanks for correction. They’re effectively two up on LAR (one game lead plus tiebreaker), so they need to win one of the final two games v PIT and CAR.
Disagree on IND, they have close to an elite OL and a very underrated defense. Luck is also playing at a high level given his limited weapons. They are a scary team in the playoffs.Go Eagles, go Colts, go Saints, go Pats - today could be a very good day and ease a ton of pain. Every AFC team is flawed. I agree. Tenn's flawed and doesn't look very scary with their options at QB but Indy has a pretty solid team. They could easily go on a run.Disagree on IND, they have close to an elite OL and a very underrated defense. Luck is also playing at a high level given his limited weapons. W00t w00tToday we are all Eagle fans. FlyEaglesFly!
no different than plenty of other times we are rooting against other teams. The difference with the Bengals it is their have to hope for other losses just to make the playoffs. We are hoping for losses for seeding. No different than 2001, 2004, 2005, 2006, etc.I hate that Pats fans have adopted other teams fans habit of wishing for other teams to take care of business for the Pats.
Its like we're all Bengals fans now,
This isn't the first time this has happened. In fact, it happens more often than it doesn't.I hate that Pats fans have adopted other teams fans habit of wishing for other teams to take care of business for the Pats.

Yeah. That was one of the weirder comments you’ll see on a board full of them. I guess the Pats should have just gone 14-2 this year. They have nobody but themselves to blame! This isn't the first time this has happened. In fact, it happens more often than it doesn't.
Be glad you weren't a Patriots fan from the mid 70's through the late 80's as that's what we did every year; "If the Patriots win and these 19 teams all lose and this one team loses by more than 42 points, we're in!!"...…………I hate that Pats fans have adopted other teams fans habit of wishing for other teams to take care of business for the Pats.
Its like we're all Bengals fans now,
And even then you’re depending on other teams to make sure there isn’t another 16-0 team in your conference, bringing it to tie breakers. If you don’t win every game you’re depending on other teams to some extent.
so far they look surprisingly competentAlso, can’t wait to finish the year with three straight losses
