I am surprised the NFL went all NFC today. You figured they may have went with an AFC matchup for the night game. Before the schedule came out, I actually thought they would have the Pats playing the Lions today. That’s what they have done the last couple times the Lions have hosted them.

My brother-in-law and I were just praising this decision. You don’t know before the season which matchups will turn out to be lopsided (Bears-Lions was scheduled long before the Bears acquired Mack, for example), but scheduling three divisional matchups gives you a better chance that the occasional unavoidable bad matchup will at least be watchable.

I suppose they could have booked an AFC matchup tonight. But there’s only one AFC divisional game this weekend (Titans-Texans), and I can see why the league thought Saints-Falcons would appeal more to the casual fan.

Overthrown??
Gimme a break Nantz, Cohen needs to catch that. Hit hand and maybe he should do a real dive instead of half a dive.

Nantz fondly remembers a Rodgers Hail Mary but doesnt recall any of Stafford’s heroics, despite him ya know actually playing today.

But also Stafford has more 4th Qtr comebacks than Rodgers. Someone posted a more thorough article in another thread.

I had heard this stat as of the Patriots game a few weeks ago, Aaron Rodgers record when his team trailed by 1 point or more in the 4th quarter against a team with a record above .500: 0-41

He literally has never led a comeback win in the 4th against a good team, if that stat is accurate.

What the hell did Romo just say about the Lions decision to go for 2? Did he say it's 13-9, but if they went for one, it would be 14-9, and you'd force the Bears to go for a touchdown?

Umm, what? When you're up by 4 already, going for 2 is pretty much perfectly fine no matter how you look at it.

What he said was that if they kicked it and then the bear scored a touchdown the Bears would be forced to go for two to make it a three point game.

This entire thing comes down to the Lions going for 2 and failing. Which led them to choke and not score a TD from the 1 and now this.
