Just to clarify for those not in attendance, though Gronk was singing along it's not like he was doing a duet with Paul. Once or twice he leaned in to Paul's mic, but he was mostly just singing along to himself. He may be a lover, but he ain't no dancer. It was fucking glorious. He was singing along the whole time. Was a little surprised he knew all the words. Yet another reason why Gronk rules this world.
All tea leaves are pointing towards it being minor or nothing and Gronk/the team showing an abundance of caution. Reports from the field were that he wasn't grabbing or pointing at anything with the trainers and walked without a limp. Hopefully it was a cramp, feeling a little tight or worse cause some sort of mild strain in the groin, hamstring or something like that. Wouldn't be shocked if he is out or limited today and certainly wouldn't freak out if he is.So . . . no news on the leg injury is good news?
Thanks for linking. This stat from the article seems pretty powerful: Last season, when Gronkowski was on the field, New England averaged 7.27 yards per pass play. When he was off, that number plummeted to 5.24.Here's a fantastic piece on Gronk's football acumen. He really is the whole package. Also some great insight from Belichick and a few opposing coaches.
Get well soon, big fella.
That seems huge, but I'd need some context. That seems largely a function of the abomination of the Eagles game, the only game he didn't play in, and snaps he missed during games he played in, so if he got hurt and left in the middle of the game, then the game plan gets screwed up, so sure, I can see that number dropping. Thanks for linking. Maybe they are right, but I can't imagine that they would put him on the podium today in place of a QB if he was not in good shape. (Maybe wishful thinking on my part)Things seem less Gronktastic right now -- NFL.com's Mike Garofolo claims Gronkowski's hammy still isn't right and the team is concerned with his slow recovery.

That's kind of a lazy way to end the article: with a silly binary poll. Perhaps this could be an interesting off-season article for ITP, to drill far more deeply into a quantitative and qualitative analysis of the 4-5 TEs that might be part of this conversation. Some 'best ever' talk is taking shape: http://www.espn.com/blog/new-england-patriots/post/_/id/4797082/is-rob-gronkowski-the-best-tight-end-in-the-history-of-the-nfl

“He uses his body well, but he’s got Tom Brady,” Graham said after the game, according to Ben Volin of the Boston Globe. “I mean, Tom Brady’s Tom Brady.”
Linebacker Zach Brown, for whatever reason, gave more credit to the clear No. 2 tight end on the team.
“I’m more impressed with [Martellus] Bennett than Gronk,” Brown said. “When Tom Brady wasn’t here, you didn’t hear [Gronk]. But when Tom Brady comes back he knows where to place it, how to place it, and he uses Gronk’s size to his advantage.
“As far as blocking, no, I do not think [Gronk’s] one of the best. Bennett is probably a better blocker.”
Gronk was so bad when Brady was out that it was almost like he wasn't playing. Complete system TE. I mean you never heard of Gronk before he played with Brady anyways, what was he doing in 2000?
Heh, that's pretty great.
Pretty spot on, actually - ESPN NFL Live is currently debating "We have seen the best of Rob Gronkowski/Has Gronk Peaked?"Has the Hot Take Zone shifted on Gronk to 'he can't stay on the field, so he sucks' yet?
Well, to be frank, isn't that likely true? I mean, not in the hot-take way that they're saying it, but what are the odds that he'll get *better*?Pretty spot on, actually - ESPN NFL Live is currently debating "We have seen the best of Rob Gronkowski/Has Gronk Peaked?"
Any update on the back injury from yesterday?
Reed is probably a bad example since he might miss a week or more now with a shoulder injury and is one or two concussions away from retirement. He's 27, in his seventh season. Even before, he lost a college season to back surgery. He takes a lot of hits and goes all out all the time.
We may have seen the best, and it would be quite understandable.
Put it this way. Even though oft injured himself -- and even though he is not 1/100th the blocker that Gronk is - if you gave GMs the choice between Jordan Reed and Gronk, my guess is that most would take Reed.
Mileage matters.

Alright, Jimmy Graham then.LOLOLOLOLOLOL
What?
The same Jordan Reed who has: 9GP, 11GP, 14GP, and now 9 this season (and not likely to play in more than 12 or 13, depending on his shoulder?)
Yea, Gronk isn't an Iron Man either. But a healthy Gronk is light years better than Reed. And Gronk has 7, 15, 15, and 8 in the same timeframe. So Gronk has been as healthy, if not more so.
Let Graham go over 1,000 yards or catch more than 4 TDs in a season without Brees and the NOLA offense, then maybe. Also, if he got like 3 times better at and more interested in blocking.Alright, Jimmy Graham then.
Still laughing buddy?
Gronk in equal health parity with any of them is vastly better overall than all of them. I don't think anyone disagrees with that. Just enjoy it.
