I think that would depend on how the laws in Dallas compare to NYC, no? Plaxico did actually go to jail.
In Texas, shooting yourself is a rite of passage.I think that would depend on how the laws in Dallas compare to NYC, no? Plaxico did actually go to jail.
The Giants, not the NFL, suspended him for conduct detrimental to the team. It didn't have to do with the law. Who knows with the NFL these days. I could see no suspension and no comment from the league to a full year suspension.I think that would depend on how the laws in Dallas compare to NYC, no? Plaxico did actually go to jail.
Aaron Henrnandez tried that too
And any statements that he made which would tend to incriminate him should be dismissed as they were issued under Burress. From the reported trajectory of the wound, sounds like this was definitely a "plaxicedent"
Excellent. And any statements that he made which would tend to incriminate him should be dismissed as they were issued under Burress.
Still won't stop Goodell from proclaiming a Taliban. And any statements that he made which would tend to incriminate him should be dismissed as they were issued under Burress.
I agree, but I think they are playing for a 2-3 year window and in a sense Lynch is more of a "let's see if this guy has any upside" play. I can't believe I am saying this, but if that defense is as good as last season then the Broncos are a Super Bowl contender with Mark Sanchez playing under center. While Miller's contract is borderline insane relative to other LBs, it is hard for me to argue that it could well be reasonable value. That's an insane amount of money to tie into a LB, no matter how good he is. They better hope Lynch turns into something quick, because they're going to hamstring the franchise for a long time if in 2-3 years they need to sign a QB.
I agree with this thinking.4 days to go. I still feel like I'd be shocked if Von doesn't get signed long term before the deadline. He's a planet player as far as defenses go, and to let him go over some difference in 3rd year guaranteed money (when he almost definitely will still be on the team) seems to be moving from "driving a hard bargain" to "being domineering and reckless", and Elway has shown himself to remain firmly in the prior camp during his tenure as GM, IMO.
The defense had incredible injury luck last year, no? Yeah, they're good but the only starters who missed significant time were Wolfe and Ware if I'm not mistaken. They only gave their 4th CB (Webster) 69 snaps all year.i was real impressed with Denver first game the Def looks the same QB is a ? but with this def and pitt shakes start brady might be the only roadblock to a 3rd sb app in 4 years
now i need to see it 2 more weeks + the first 3 weeks of reg season
but if denver def holds teams under 20 pts on a weeky basis denver looks like a 11- win team even with sancez
So about that injury luck....not so much this year. The defense had incredible injury luck last year, no? Yeah, they're good but the only starters who missed significant time were Wolfe and Ware if I'm not mistaken. They only gave their 4th CB (Webster) 69 snaps all year.
every team is going to have INJ denver will likely only keep 6 DL'S Wolfe Gotsis Crick Kilgo S Willams and E Yardbrouh ? or V Dora he is a LB right now but i couild see him as a 4th DESo about that injury luck....not so much this year.
Vance Walker tore his ACL and is out for the season. He was supposed to take over for Malik Jackson on the defensive line.

i am not counting on ware for anything this season Denver still has Miller Ray barnett and Z Anderson and if D Watson keeps playing crazy good u have to throw him into the mixThe defense had incredible injury luck last year, no? Yeah, they're good but the only starters who missed significant time were Wolfe and Ware if I'm not mistaken. They only gave their 4th CB (Webster) 69 snaps all year.
Crick will take Jackson spot now the Key is adam gotsis if he can flash this year and free up the lb's then walker lost will hurt but with denver abiliy to rush with LB'S and S'S they shouild still gets TO'SSo about that injury luck....not so much this year.

Trevor Siemian banged his shoulder while trying to make diving tackle on Eric Reid's INT return. #9sports
He was just named the starter for this week's game as well but is not practicing today due to the shoulder ding.
Kind of an odd profile piece on Von Miller posted on ESPN today. I feel like the writer went in thinking they'd write this positive, fluff-piece of a story about how great of a guy he is - and certainly she stretched to find ways to do that ("Uhhh, his teammates like him! And he's overcome asthma! And he's pissed clean for three years! And he flew Southwest once!") - but by the end of it you kind of get a feeling that he was raised spoiled, is still spoiled, is always seeking the approval of his friends, and really doesn't get what it takes to be the leader of a football team.
The way it's written makes him seem more concerned with living this crazy bachelor lifestyle, growing his celebrity, and questioning marijuana laws than he does taking hold of the team and leading the way to another championship. At least that's how it read to me. In parts of it he doesn't even seem that passionate about football (such as when he told Johnny Manziel that it's ok to think "Fuck football!", even though it's probably the only positive outlet in Manziel's life, and how at one point John Elway questioned Miller's love for the game).
Just kind of a strange piece. It felt like the writer was asked to write a certain kind of story about Miller and struggled to find ways to do it. It'll be interesting to see if the Broncos regret this deal after a couple more years.

It's one thing to have a rookie or a second year guy talking about some of the things he talks about, but a LB that just got paid QB money? There's a level of immaturity that's still a part of VM, and I'd be a little concerned about that being paired with all of that guaranteed money if I was a Broncos fan.
Pretty good chance they will (just like there's a pretty good chance the pats will regret some gronk deal at some point, or the texans a JJ Watt deal)--so many things can go wrong for a football player that if you're playing a guy top dollar on a long term deal there's a very good chance you have a big ugly cap hit some year that that player is hurt of has they're performance drop. It's the cost of doing business but big money non QB deals often turn bad.no, the Broncos will not regret the deal.
This is obviously ridiculous. If Denver wins this week, they are guaranteed to be 1-0. If they lose, 0-1. Outside of that, nothing is certain.this first game is huge for denver
win it and Denver will be no worse than 10-3 when NE Comes to town
Lose it and 8-5 is likely with 3 AFC Road playoffs games to get to Hou
Is that really the case that there is a very good chance it won't work out? I'm trying to think of big money non-QB deals and it seems to be a very mixed bag. Of course, one's definition of "big money" can vary. When you look at OL, it seems like they seem to work out more often than not. Looking backwards (and in some of these cases it is hard to evaluate as you don't want to only look at the first 3 years I assume), you have Joe Thomas, Jon Runyan, Jason Peters, et al on the positive side of the docket, Jahri Evans kind of in the "Hmmmm....." side of the docket and I struggled to think of guys who really stunk as FA OL, but it's early.Pretty good chance they will (just like there's a pretty good chance the pats will regret some gronk deal at some point, or the texans a JJ Watt deal)--so many things can go wrong for a football player that if you're playing a guy top dollar on a long term deal there's a very good chance you have a big ugly cap hit some year that that player is hurt of has they're performance drop.
