Kellen Moore for #2!
edit: Honestly wouldn't surprise me if they kept him as a backup. For the record, I'm a Boise State homer.

The team where he already has? Of course, new coaching staff kills that.Where in the NFL would he start?
Aside from the problems with carrying three quarterbacks on the roster, Manziel is not and will not ever be a good fit in Dallas. I get that you want to see the sideshow but no amount of justification will ever make this a sound football move (though, as Winger pointed out, this isn't exactly a Jerry Jones hallmark). The issue isn't that they need someone in 2-3 years; the issue is that they might need someone after 2-3 minutes. Romo's back injury - not the collarbone - remains the big problem. I realize I've beat this drum before, but the Cowboys had, like, the 4th worst backup QB situation in the league and it bit them directly on the ass this season. Losing Dez too made it a complete clusterfuck, but Weeden/CasselMoore can't be the backup plan, again.
So...Manziel jokes aside, it's probably a better option than a QB at #4 in the draft. There's no QB I'd take there; any QB in this draft needs to sit and develop. Can you sit & develop the #4 overall pick? I don't think so. And since Romo could be done at any moment, having a guy ready to play Week 1 as the backup makes more sense than a long-term developmental investment in draft capital.
Assume Manziel just needs Daddy Jerruh to put him in the Dez Behavior Management Program (patent pending) to harness his talent? Isn't he a better fit - in exchange for a 6th round pick, max - as a backup if Romo stays healthy and the Cowboys make a ride at their closing window?
Time for THE SANCHIZE!Of course Colt McCoy is a better fit; he's a former Longhorn not some stupid Aggie, right? ;-)
I don't really care who it ends up being, so long as it is a better backup plan than the one I (correctly) predicted was going to lead to disaster. Though Drew Stanton is not any better than Weeden, so ya know...
Well, sure, that doesn't hurt. I was thinking more along the lines of him not being a complete and total fuck up. Plus, he's actually won a game or two in the NFL. With the Browns, even.Of course Colt McCoy is a better fit; he's a former Longhorn not some stupid Aggie, right? ;-)
I'd prefer that one million times out of a million over Manziel.Time for THE SANCHIZE!
Or "weed".You can't spell Weeden without a "w"...
I could get behind this. I liked some of what I saw of him this season - which was admittedly very little. You know who would be an interesting backup for the Cowboys ... Blaine Gabbert.
If the next SF coach is given the mission of rehabbing Kaepernick, Gabbert might not be a style-fit as a backup.
That's one. But I trust him to repeat it as much as I trusted Murray to repeat his 2014. Which is to say I don't.Bosoxen, what are your few bright spots of this past trainwreck season? McFadden looked serviceable, right?
100% goneWhat's the take on Hardy coming back? Likely, not likely. And were it up to you would you have him back?
Everything I've read suggests he'd like to stay but that Garrett is lukewarm about the idea. Of course, we all know he's not the one wearing the big boy pants in that organization, so who knows. What's the take on Hardy coming back? Likely, not likely. And were it up to you would you have him back?
