Juventus is really lucky with this ref. A different ref and they might be down to 9 men by now. Maybe 8.

Pogba's combination of speed and power is really impressive. He doesn't seem to know how to dominate a match yet but there's so much there as a player

That's such a great example of why they have been insane this year. Pedro could have shot that, most strikers would especially ones who don't get much time, instead it slides sideways for the easier shot. Barcelona has been so good at getting star strikers to be unselfish.

It helps when Messi works so hard to create opportunities for other players.  Suarez does as well, as he did for Liverpool.

Love the Barca assistant's clothes. Denim button down shirt, untucked, with a nice pair of jeans. The Canadiens would be so proud.

So, with the news Pirlo might consider a move to MLS after next season....
How old do you think he'd have to get before he stopped being one of the best players in MLS?
45?
50?

I laughed. Then I thought about it and the answer, obviously, is 42.

Pirlo just wants to live in New York, eat at three star restaurants every night, be the most stylish bearded man in town, and fuck a thousand models.  I give him three years tops before he can't be bothered to even go to practice anymore, let alone stay in some semblance of shape.

Fucking thousands of models will keep one in pretty good shape.

i was rooting hard for Juve all night, but selfishly it was great to see Evra exposed and downright bad at times. The flip side was seeing Neymar jump around like he'd been kicked in the ribs even more so than he normally does, and my hockey-esque rants about his conduct got a few laughs I guess. Definitely sad to see Pirlo go out like that, and to see Vidal/Pogba not play up to their best (though a ton of credit has to be given to Busquets, Iniesta, and Alves for that).

Echoing the praise for the referee - in that environment, he did as well as could have been expected. There were a couple of calls here and there that I thought were not 100%, but nothing egregious was missed, and most importantly he did not change the game.

Next is to wake up in 6 hours to get to Tegel  :nsmith:  fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

edit: I don't care how Luis Suárez treated LFC on his way out, I love the guy and his jubilance at winning the CL was a joy to watch

After Milan and Rome, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Bearded Pirlo isn't gonna be bothered by the pace of NYC nightlife.

Do Milan and Rome (or Turin) have wild nightlife scenes anyway? Haven't visited Milan or Rome in over 10 years but I didn't get the impression that they are anything like New York City in that regard.

Turin probably not (though it's an hour and a half drive to Milan so players probably get a driver and go there). As for Milan the clubs are open until 4, and probably for a rich celebrity the nightlife experience in NYC and Milan isn't all that different, I mean most athletes and other celebs go to the trendy clubs with a VIP those are pretty similar anywhere.

Quite honestly I am completely neutral on this I really don't mind who wins & I just want to see a spectacular game, maybe some controversy and a few hard tackles and a game that is deserving of the occasion.

Got your wish.

Edit: last 15 min were slow, as Juve tired out and Suarez got in some naps on the turf. Other than that, fun to watch. Goals were earned, and both goals off deflections were great shots to start, forcing a deflection across the goal. Buffon had some excellent saves as did ter Stegen on that shot in his bottom left corner.

Suarez/Messi/Neymar on the break with two trailing teammates, versus three defenders, is as scary a moment as there is.

The greatest keeper ever deserves a Champions League. Forza Juve

Perhaps he is, and he made some great saves today, but I think Timmy Howard (or Claudio Bravo, more to the point) doesn't give up a rebound straight to Suarez on the game's decisive kick.

He's either hanging out with this guy, or he IS this guy:
