Don't they blow the whistle if the player is in danger?  The puck went right back to Chara and he was ready to let it fly again. I don't mind it either way bc that guy could have died.

Hey nice!  Kelly AND Campbell on the PP.
They can blow it dead whenever they want. It's completely subjective. If they think a guy is in real danger they're supposed to blow it right away. But then, like I said, they let Campbell lie on the ice with a broken leg and struggle to get up while the Penguins shot rockets at him in the playoffs so it annoys me when a Bruin PP gets shut down under similar circumstances.

The first penalty was OK, there was a lot of extra on that hit and that isn't OK anymore. But that 2nd one I really don't understand. It was a regular hit to me
I think they called the two hand shiver after the hit.

Not saying I agreed with the call, but it was entirely unnecessary choppiness by marchand

Very weak...but also stupid by Marchand. Tired of his shit. His talents aren't enough to offset his stupidity
It wasn't stupid at all. He didn't do anything wrong.

That is absolutely inexcusable and ruins a great period.

You need to get your eyes checked.

He cross checked him after the hit. It was the kind of play that is seldom caused but it WAS stupid. Marchand is a chippy player - they watch him.

The dumbest mistake of all of that was Tuukka playing that puck originally. There were 7 seconds left in the period, there's no need to venture out and touch it at all. Just let it be.

That was not a cross check. That was a two handed half shove that happens literally 100 times a game. It was a horrible call.

That's fucking disgraceful by Versteeg.
I'm not certain he didn't get him on the way through. Tough to tell, even in slow motion, and my frame by frame blocks that part of the screen.

I said in my original post it wasn't worthy of a call. I just think Marchand pulls a lot of that stuff and he's under a microscope. I think he takes a lot of dumb penalties doing little shit like that, and his production isn't worth it. I know you need some scrappy guys who play with attitude, but I don't think Marchand is a savvy player.

Bs were up 2-0 and he takes that penalty, which served no purpose whatsoever. Finish the check and rejoin the play.

He clearly hit Versteeg's hand with his stick, and that caused him to trip on the side of the net. Kind of a dive, but not really. I have no issue at all with that penalty call.

I do have an issue with Tuukka the last ten seconds after an outstanding 19:50, though.

I've looked at it about 10 times, I think he slightly caught him, and of course he fell and made the most of it.

He was facing away from Tuukka at the time, if he didn't actually get hit, he wouldn't have known when to fall.

So it wasn't a penalty and was a bad call but was still stupid to take the penalty.

Brain checking commence.

Yeah, I can't really fault a guy too much there. Lot of nerves around that part of the body, and Tuukka wound up an two handed the post like he was at T-ball.

Even if he didn't get him, it's a really dangerous play with other players that close, either because of direct contact or the possibility of the stick breaking, and the sort of thing that Tuukka did a bit earlier in his career. He's been acting out the last few games and needs to knock it off.

Do you disagree that Marchand at times does little chippy shit that gets called? Just saying this is one of those times.

Look, we Bs fans are all frustrated by the season. Chia has spent a lot of money on guys who, in my view, aren't worth it. I think Marchand is one and see that play as a small example why.

Loui almost pulled off the Forsberg.

Off the post, and bounces right to Crawford, who is down on the ice.  Grrrrr....
