I had been hoping for years that he'd get bought out late in his contract to return to a more mature Celtics team. However, with his salary it's effectively impossible for the Celtics to acquire him this year under the new CBA rules.I've seen a few people speculate he could be a mid season candidate to a team like Boston, but I'm not sure I see it.
I think some of the TPE went to Evan Fournier, which didn't turn into anything (expired TPE), and some went to Josh Richardson, which became Derrick White.ETA: I guess the Cs technically did a sign-and-trade to create a trade exception, but I am not sure how much of it (if any) was even used.
They shouldn't need their coach to call them out after that lackluster performance. Pretty sure the Grizzlies came up with every 50/50 ball.Coach Joe used up a bit of social capital after the game, not impressed with the effort. It will be interesting to see if they come out roaring or if guys aren't super psyched about getting called out.
Regardless, motivating players is the coaches job. They shouldn't need their coach to call them out after that lackluster performance. Pretty sure the Grizzlies came up with every 50/50 ball.
Sounds not great. Hope everything is ok with him and his family.
Agreed. Not sure why the players should get upset if there are legitimate reasons for him to question their effort.Regardless, motivating players is the coaches job.
Year 1 was the injury and year 2 he clearly wasn't himself (not much more than a solid 6th man), but year 3 was the most frustrating for me. When he was on the court he played liked a borderline all-star (18/7/4 with solid defense and a TS% of .595), but it was just one bad luck injury after another. He missed 5 weeks with a broken hand and then most of the playoffs with a sprained ankle (different leg than he hurt in year 1). He returned for part of the Miami series in the bubble, but clearly wasn't healthy. The whole Gordon Hayward experience bummed me out. The injury, then a lot of games where I tried to convince myself he was back (though deep down, I knew that was not true). Then, and this might just be me, but there was a lot anxiety about whether he would opt-in before ultimately opting out and walking away for nothing. It is weird to think I was once excited for this team with Hayward and Kyrie.

CP-squared? CP2?Ok, kinda like Crypto P for a Payton Pritchard nickname from Forsberg
In my eyes PP only belongs to one man, so I'm down to find another shorthand for himCP-squared? CP2?
