Ok.

Game shouldn't have been that close, BUT you love to see that big performance in the clutch. I already love not seeing Marcus handling the ball close and late.

This is why I wanted him. His ceiling is simply higher than anything Smart can provide.
I didn’t LOVE the trade but it’s undeniable now. He provides a different dimension than Smart and is something the Celtics (and most teams) don’t have.

The pick and pop game with the Jays, he can post up. He’s going to be a weapon

What a debut for KP! Someone mentioned it's an all-time scoring record for a new Celtic.

And I really like Doc as an analyst

I will never stop dreaming on Danny Ainge being Janos.
I wonder if he's said any shit about the Utah Jazz in the last few years.

I need a GIF of Al Horford hanging on the rim smacking Randle in the face with his ass. Was with about a minute left in the first half, they had a nice baseline replay.

Offense will get better. Defense is clearly elite. End of game execution shaky but it’s the first game of the season so I’ll give it a pass.

But they lose that game 10/10 times last season. Got smoked from deep and found a way to grind out an ugly win. That’s what they could not do last year.

For all the talk about losing the ability to have a PG who can defend bigs…Jrue spent an awful lot of time tonight giving big guys trouble.

If this wasn’t a Celtics game I woulda tuned out an hour ago. The refs watched a 30 minute sitcom “under the hood today”. NBA needs a pitch clock.

That said, happy to steal the win after the 3 play gag by JB.
The NFL has gotten much quicker with replay. NBA is terrible at it .

Knicks are tough, well coached and play very hard. There is a lot of talent across the league, you aren't rolling over anybody. A win on the road is a great result.

Vegas had the C's -3.5, so it was pretty much exactly as close as Vegas wanted it to be. :)

Knicks foul shots balanced out their 3 point luck.

The Tatum/Porzingis game will be fun to watch.

Brown will bounce back when he takes his talents to South Beach Friday night.

Jaylen Brown is an elite scorer, 11pts is going to catch heat

It doesn't matter if it's Game #1 or Game #82
He only took 11 shots.

If KP and JT are going to go off for 30+, I'm just fine with him taking a backseat and giving us 5 assists..

Gave Randle trouble all night and also completely shut down Brunson in isolation on the last possession nearly forcing a walk off steal. He’s a better defender than Smart and it’s not particularly close.

Los Angeles by way of Roxbury
It's going to take some time to gel, but MAN I am still so excited about this team and this season.

Porzingis looks so good on this team. If we could chuck it into the ocean from 3 it would have been much more comfortable, even accounting for average FT shooting from NY.

Keep it going.

Even if one or both of the Jays are off, they both command so much attention and defenses don’t want them driving.
It’s no wonder he looks like a kid in a candy store

NHL and NBA are still in the figuring it out like dumb babies phase where they are under the mistaken belief that perfection matters.

The T reviews and that kind of shit need to be gone yesterday. Waste of everybody’s time and at the end of the day nobody gives a shit about losing a FT here and there in an 82 game regular season that everyone not financially invested already agrees is at least a dozen games too long.

Yup. The spacing is going to be so good this year. It’s basically the opposite of what the Patriots have.

Agreed.

The ire should be for the bench that gave them nothing. PP and Hauser missing every 3 they took and Kornet looking awful.
Kornet played awful but he looked great. There was one part of the game where the piano part of Still Dre was going and Luke looked like he was floating up the court.

PP and Hauser took 8 shots total. While they cannot continue to go 1-8, I see no reason to believe they will continue to go 0-7 from 3 every night.

I think that might just be Hauser. I'm not convinced he's an NBA player.
Not sure I disagree.

Beginning of last year, I thought he looked like he had one of the purest strokes from 3 I've seen.

Now, that stroke looks really strange to me for some reason.

I'm not capable of putting it together, but would love to see progressions of his shooting stroke over the past year. He went through a big dip last December shooting, continued a bit in January, then figured it out for the remainder of the year, but to me, he's looking like he did in December again.
