Nice run to start the new year, but this little run west will be a true test.  Ducks have yet to lose in regulation at home. The Kings have dropped just 5 at home while the Sharks have lost just one.

Florek headed west with the big club on an emergency basis as they're unsure about Caron's back.

When is Thornton eligible to return? Two more games (Saturday vs. Sharks)?

Between here and everywhere.
For those of you that play hockey, but don't often venture in TBLtS -

I'm looking for one more hockey player to play in a game at Fenway next Monday.

If you're interested - let me know.

Heck of a test for the B's this week. Home records of the 3 teams:

Anaheim: 17-0-2
Los Angeles 14-5-2
San Jose: 15-1-3

46-6-7 combined home record for those teams. 4 points would be an absolute coup. LA has the *worst* record of the group, and they just got Quick back from injury.

This trip will also serve as an opportunity to gauge where Ryan Spooner is and how he stacks up against playoff competition. The Bruins have been playing mostly bottom feeders since his recall, so now we get a chance to see how he handles matching up stronger opponents. He'll be facing guys like Ryan Getzlaf, Saku Koivu, Joe Thornton, Joe Pavelski, Mike Richards, Anze Kopitar, etc. Let's see what he's got.

Just decided to make the drive up there. Looking forward to it.
We'll be pre-gaming at The Catch. . . . . I'll be the 6'5' guy in the Lucic jersey.

I hope you're not wearing a Chara jersey because people in the crowd might get confused.
Lucic. At game 5 last year of the SCF, all the Blackhawk fans were yelling that at me. . . it was funny. . . so I killed them.

Got a late start. Just passing Spectrum. Just hoping to make it for the puck drop at this point.

Looch is sick and won't play. Joy. My assumption is Paille skates in Lucic's normal spot and either Miller or Krug skate as a forward on the fourth line.

I'm not taking anything away from the kid, but I'm looking forward to upgrading Matt Fraser to Loui Eriksson.

Lucic is not banging, but Soderberg is having a good start to the game on the first line.  The 2nd line is rolling.  B's are outshooting ANA 16-3.  I can't complain much about what's happened so far.

edit: and by that, I mean that replacing Lucic with Soderberg is not the same, but seems to be working well.

Yep, pretty much.  Dominate the period, don't score, nearly immediately get scored upon in the second.

And again.

There have got to be at least 4 games this season where the script is: Dominate the first, shit the bed in the 2nd.
