So much for the 8PM start meaning they'd start on time. Maybe we can get an actual oZone shift next period.

Looks to me like Toronto has settled on the Wall around Woll strategy which has been aided by all the grabbing and pushing they've gotten away with. If we can hang in there, this game might well be decided by a lucky bounce.

Saved by the horn. And Swayman's pads. But is it too much to ask for a shot on goal?

Their one time killing shot seemed to catch Woll off guard a bit. So perhaps test him some in the 2nd.

Glad the Bruins got out of that period without giving up a goal. Hope they come out with more energy in the 2nd.

Does anyone have any theories? Like, what the fuq is going on?! Is it simply nerves/pressure or is there something else? How can such a good team with quality character wilt like this?

Hopefully the narrative after this game is about how the Leafs missed early opportunities and couldn’t cash in before the Bs got going. Feels miraculous that it’s tied.

Well the Bruins were putrid but that shot total flatters the Leafs. The Leafs had very few good chances despite the numbers and also considering how awful we were.

We won’t win playing like that, that is blatantly obvious - but it’s not like our opponents looked remotely close to world beaters.

Toronto should be kicking themselves that they aren’t ahead.

That whole sequence was created because the Leafs won a battle in the corner. That's what it takes.

The neutral zone is clogged. Leafs have owned it and unless the Bruins get lucky, they aren't getting through. They can keep trying, and the Leafs will keep picking up the puck around their own blue line and head back the other way.

Get the puck behind them, and win a battle in the corner. That's it. Just because it doesn't work the first 5 times, you keep going. Forechecking is like rebounding. You have to want it more. That's where the goals and drawing penalties are going to come from.

My theory is the coach and leaders just failing to motivate anyone

maybe just overdoing the “relax and we’ll be fine” messaging

Are we sure this team has the ability to win big games? How long has it been since they won a big game in the playoffs? Maybe they’re just mental midgets who wilt under pressure? I’m starting to wonder with the way they’ve played in close out games the past 2 (3?) years.

Totally agreed. People are acting like Toronto is creating chances like Colorado. There was very little danger in that period.

I mean, they made the Cup Final in 2013 and 2019…. but I also hear you… so frustrating

How in the living fuck do you come out that fucking flat for a game 6?

Did they listen to goddamn ASMR videos pre game?

I hope someone punched everyone of those dolts in the face at intermission.

xG was 0.71-0.31 for the Leafs.

I’m starting to wonder if, 8 games in, teams can key in on the Bruins’ strategies and adjust with relative impunity. Like, they know they can jam the NZ and the Bruins won’t change.
