Also, I think this is all overblown. We didn't acquire 2 Ogie Oglethorpe's and a Matt Cooke here. Bertuzzi is a very skilled offensive player who is not very physical. He's annoying to play against and will get under the opponents skin. He's been suspended once, 5 years ago. He's not really a dirty player. His teamates love him, Dylan Larkin was in tears yesterday after the trade. Orlov is a top pairing defenseman who, like McAvoy, will throw a big open ice hit if the opportunity presents itself. But that's not his priamry role, it's just a piece of his game. Hathaway is a good grinding, defensive forward who plays north south and will hit D retrieve pucks in his corner. He is annoying to play against because he is relentless but he is not a good.
These guys are skilled hockey players first and foremost, they just also happen to have some sandpaper to their game. That is something people have complained the Bruns don't have enough of. There's a belief, perhaps even a valid one, that they got shoved around by the Blues in 2019, Tampa in 2020, the Islanders in 2021. They might have to go through the Isles with Martin, Clutterbuck and Cizikas still there again and Tampa who still has Maroon, Perry and added Jeannot. Now the Bruins have their own annoying dudes to play against.
